I don't believe in "lifetime" fills for anything, much less coolant. Among other things, don't corrosion inhibitors give themselves up over time, so as to eventually leave you with no corrosion protection, even in a closed system? Yet, Ferrari dealer insists there's no reason to change my coolant. Even on a 2010 going on 9 years! Anyone else have this told to them? Did you insist anyway?

You can refer to your service warranty booklets.
I thought it was supposed to be changed every two years

I agree that any fluid can't really be "lifetime".
Therefore I had the dealer change the coolant at the 5 year mark, and plan to do it every 5 years.

You are correct. No lifetime fluids for anything. If you have a 2010 and the brake fluid and oil needs to be done anyway, I'd ask for every fluid in the car changed. I did that to mine and feel much better and so does the car! They said no problem even gear and trans fluid. Cost is lower than expected. Don't forget the power steering fluid. They do these changes for those who ask. My specialist said he'd do it to.

The thing about coolant is that the degrading formulation is exposed to various metals and will cause corrosion that, once started needs acids and flushes to get them clean if at all possible and those chemicals carry additional system risks. Good luck.

Thanks. Yes, all other fluids have been changed annually since I got the car, and the last couple times I asked about coolant, the dealer said something about lifetime and didn’t seem interested in doing it. This time I’m going to a trusted independent and getting it done.

Good idea. But probably best to start a separate thread.
