I'm sure it's in the manual and have only done 2 searches... but, still wanted to hear from those that knew. Where are the lifting points to left a 328. Just behind the front tires and just in front of the rear tires?? I know the newer models have a round circular indention where the floor lifts fit into (saw them at the Boardwalk dealership). Thank you for your response.
Depends what you are lifting with. If its a 2 post/4 arm lift then on the main chassis members at the joints close to the points you describe - look it up & do NOT guess! If you are talking about lifting with a floor jack then there is one jacking point on each side & you lift the whole side of the car at that point - its about 10 inches in front of the rear wheel. Never ever attempt to jack a 308/328 anywhere else on the sill. You can jack the rear using the rear cross member (means bending the anti-roll bar up). I don't do it & I don't like the look of it but I have seen pros do it who say its perfectly OK and safe thing to do. I.
depending upon what you're doing underneath the car, you might try driving the car up on a couple staggered 2x12 boards under either both front or rear wheels/tires. This will get the car up high enough to check a few things under the engine and for a some minor stuff like changing the oil, etc. I also do this to get clearance to use my floor jack & stands if I need the car up a bit higher.
The last post also has a neat schematic - often 328 info can be found with a 308 search and vice versa http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthr...28+jack+stands http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthr...9&page=1&pp=20 I'm sure there's also at least one other good thread in the past month too
