Hi all I just made a deposit for a brand new 296 GTB (cancelled order). I love the specs. But there is no lift. Im based in London. I used to have an F12 without a lift too... But I didn't have any issue. The 296 looks a bit lower... Is the lift mandatory in a city like London? Thanks.
My 458 Spider does not have the lift option and I have not had a problem, however, the previous owners did scrape the bottom of the bumper cover. That was repaired and I installed scrape guards. No issue. I did order the lift option for my 296 GTS that was ordered last July. Time will tell.
You do NOT need it. I never use lift on my 296 in London. It’s a 5k option ( because it forces AFS). Adaptive headlights. Ferraris have great ground clearance. Lamborghini’s on the other hand are a must ! A lambo without lift will struggle to sell. I only added it because my dealer was insistent for resale purposes.
I'm on the same boat. When I speced out my 296 dealer said do yourself a favor order it with lift, in case I decide to sell it 90% of second hand market will shy away from one without the option. On the other hand it's hard to judge, if 296 can clear my steep driveway. My 911s will not clear it , but it's not a problem for the F12 or Speciale.
JBL is brilliant! Wouldn’t order a Ferrari without it. The standard systems are poor. when do you collect your car ?
Did you order a GTS aswell ? Are you doing the full car with topaz or just front end ppf? The wireless car play is brilliant though. Only gripe is the haptic switch can sometimes be slow to respond. Make sure HR Owen get you tickets to Ferrari Passione at Brands Hatch next month. Not sure if you have been to one of those events, but the are a good meet up and a bit of fun on the track parade!
No GTS for now... Maybe later. I also have a 992 turbo S cab. Not sure if i will keep it. My business partner will get his gts soon. France delivery. Did you order a gts? Full PPF... Ok will tell hr Owen about the event. Thanks
I have a GTS coming that’s why I didn’t PPF the GTB. Might live to regret that! Speak to Owen Rothwell at HR Owen. He is the marketing manager. He will get you into Brands next month. You won’t keep the 992. The car becomes almost redundant with the GTB. I had 992 Turbo before and the porsche although a wonderful car it doesn’t have the drama of the GTB. You almost feel that the turbo is an everyday normal car (if that’s possible. Lol). Did you keep your F12? They make a great sound. Not a front engined Ferrari fan, but I can see the appeal. I have looked at the super fast a few times. Just never seem to actually find one to buy. A bit of a unicorn car for me.
I don't think I will keep the 992... I sold the F12 few months ago. I was not driving it. Great car though. I also looked at the 812 gts... But there is a massive technologic gap between the 296/sf90 and the previous models.. So I really wanted to buy an hybrid.
I have not had a problem with my 296 nor former (F8 and older) cars though I never use multi-story car parks so cannot comment about those. The bigger issue is parking next to a high kerb. Like @ShadowLAP said you can always fit scrape guards for sleeping policeman (do we need those with the 20mph limits in London these days) and inclines.
Your dealer may recommend some, there are lots of 3rd party products and some more specifically for some Ferrari models – basically sacrificial pieces of plastic. This thread is worth a read https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/front-lifter-get-it-or-skip-it.658913/
