Hi, I living in a big city and it is really hard to find a suitable garage. Yesterday I found one which would be perfect but the problem is that the nose rubs on the floor when driving down to the garage. It is only a tiny little bit that touches the ground I thought about raising the adjustable front suspension by 3-4 millimeters so that I can use that garage. On the other hand I want to avoid destroying a maybe perfect setup suspension.. What you think?? Thanks!
It sort of depends on where the ride height is right now. If the car is at stock ride height going higher will begin to cause issues with the geometry, but if the car is lowered coming up 3-4mm might be a good thing. In any case the difference between the front ride height and rear ride height (called "rake") is the MOST important aspect of the car's "balance". Raising the front in relation to the rear will create understeer if you drive aggressively. Also, changing the ride height will require re-setting toe and camber. If you are happy with the way the car drives, and you MUST gain clearance, then raise the entire car enough to get what you need and then have a complete alignment done to get everything straight again. Good luck!
It's an older car. Have the springs measured to see if they are sagging with age. An inch would do it. And put those lower nose scrape pads on it and you should be good to go
Only at speeds over 200mph I had a 348 that someone before me did that. I think the springs have an adjustment ring that you can do that with. I just left it the way it was when I got it. It never presented a problem until I installed that ferrari chin spoiler, then things scrapped again. good luck.
