Lets see some pics. I know Isaac has been doing some excellent stuff with some of the cars he has protographed. Okay, maybe not "painting" in the sense the word means, but still... Lets see pics with lights in them. Flash lights, fireworks, moving cars etc. Just light that moves
I've always liked lightpainting photos. Here's one I did last month with my Mini. High-res: http://www.flickr.com/photos/folkphotography/7433538668/in/photostream Looking forward to more contributions in this thread! -Gil Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very cool. I like that myself. I set up cones on a downhill road and made my X drive toward the camera and away. Shot 4x5 film then shot the car, all in the camera, before PS. Try it. Get someone you don't like, they have to drive the wrong way. Rod Image Unavailable, Please Login
Impressive! Especially considering it was done with film. Great work! Here are two light-painting photos I did with an f-chatter's cars last week. I'm not about trying to keep secrets in photography. And I'll admit I'm learning new stuff all the time My style focuses mostly on the subject, not the background. I think of it as a portable studio to some extent. Here is an example of an unedited one-pass back light image. For this, maybe only a few details are important to the overall image; but the way the light reflects on those few parts is very important. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Isaac, Love the orange GTX1 shot, I think it's the perfect mix of lighting, I think there does need to be some lighting on the ground to make the photo look somewhat natural.
One of the things I want to do is get more "stock" photos of locations from certain angles to "place" the car there... But I generally agree with you.
So there are two parts here, first is how McLaren had the P1 light painted. http://gizmodo.com/5948814/you-wont-believe-how-this-car-was-light-painted Second is an iphone / ipad app that will 'augment reality'. You download the right black and white image of the P1, point your iphone camera at it, and it then renders the P1 in 3d and you can play with the speed of the airflow just like in the light painted movie from part 1. http://jalopnik.com/5947228/get-your-own-mclaren-p1-for-free-with-this-awesome-iphone-app
