328 lights work great otherwise, but really bouncy left headlight loves going disco up-n-down on me. Checked all the bolts, nuts and adjustment buckle and all are tight; tried to shake on the top of the light and notice a slight movement on the shaft of the lifting motor - does anyone know of any other bolts I can tighten around the light motor area?

Have a look at the back of the headlight housing. What you are looking for is a broken weld. The brackets on the back of my headlight housing (348) are only spot welds, and not welded the full legnth of the bracket. I had a couple of the spot welds break and it caused what you are talking about. So it may be the same deal for your car.

Here's the update on what I found. Re-checked all the bolts and nuts on the light housing and all suggestions above. I narrowed the problem down to a small "rocking" of the arm that connects the turnbuckle (that moves the light up and down) and it turns out that the slotted hole in the arm has been worn to a point where the grooves are now smooth. No matter how much I tighten the nut down, there is a small rocking movement of this arm.

What I need to do is to replace the lower part of Part #12 (where Part #18 (washer) goes into(Illustrated above). This is a metal arm with a hole that goes into the shaft of the headlight motor.

Now goes the search for this part!

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Thanks for the update, as this will give others that encounter the same problem, something else to look for.

Thought I'd share what I finally found was the culprit. Ferrari_UK_Tech's suggestion was right on the money. The second part #3 (bolt with rubber stop) located BEHIND the light compartment, accessible only by taking the front tire and removing the wheel well panels, was the reason the light was bouncing. The Rubber Stop on the top of the bolt was simply worn down on one side and I simply rotated the rubber stop so that the bracket in the light assembly would rest on it when the light is in the UP position.

So now when the motor engages, the light assembly is pushed tightly against the rubber stop. Bouncing is gone. I did adjust Item #12 above to as best that I could, but the rubber stop was indeed the culprit!

Thanks for all of your suggestions!!

Pic below shows the rubber stop on the Driver's side light, photographed from the wheel well.
