For all of you that have radios in your planes, I would be interested in what you use if it's one of those new 'in-ear headsets'. I have a WW2 style with earcups and all, but wanted to have a more WW1 look and these look like they would fit under a leather helmet.

My research has led me to two possibilities, the Quiet Technologies 'Halo' and the Clarity Aloft headsey. These are ultra lightweight sets that use hearing aid type speakers in earbuds and a thin wire noise cancelling mic. Both require no batteries. They look as if the both could fit comfortably (and unobtrusively) under a replica WW1 leather helmet.

They both tout 30 - 40 dB passive noise reduction.

Does anyone else have any other recommendations?

    Many thanks.
