Anyone interested in meeting for the drive up on the Saturday of the Ferrari Challenge? I know a few Audi guys from Audiworld will be heading up, so maybe we can have a Ferrari/Audi Meet and Drive. Since most of us will be coming up from the NJ area, how about we all meet in the parking garage of that first rest area on 87N right past the 287 Split? We've got some time to plan.. but anyone intersted?
I'll be at the Bullrun launch on that Saturday in NYC otherwise I would meet up with you at Limerock.
Time Square and I have no idea what time. It would be great if they left early and then I could rush back to Limerock and catch the rest of the historics.
No Ferrari Challenge this year at LimeRock. Its an FCA event tied in with FNA's Historics. I saw the 430 Challenge at Montreal and there were at least 30 cars. LimeRock pulls maybe 15 or so; maybe this is why they aren't there this year.
ill be there, no ferrari for me though, but ill be there as a fan...and thats the most important imo.

Thanks for posting the list! That's one amazing bunch of cars. That probably a record for that many GTO's to attend Limerock ever. Hopefully all the cars show... Anyone looking forward to seeing any purticular cars at limerock that are on this list?
The TRC 0670 MDTR will likely not be there; it is being auctioned later in August. All other cars are confirmed (and I've talked to most of the owners in the past couple of weeks or so). The owner of the Maserati T61 Birdcage may substitite GTOs if it can be prepared in time, making seven. It is certainly the best Shell Historic grid of the season, and probably one of, or the best group of historic Ferraris racing at Lime Rock. (And Tuttebenne, the reason the 430s are not at Lime Rock has nothing to do with your guess. It's a long story, but basically there was a desire to cover other parts of the country where the Challenge had not raced -- Portland, for example. There were only so many Challenge races, and too many tracks wishing to host one.) Hope to see many of you there.
Have a look in the "Vintage Section" for the "Lime Rock Shell Historics" which has many great photos of the cars coming to Lime Rock this weekend. Marcel Massini
Anyone have a passenger seat for a Saturday round trip from NYC to Lime Rock and back? I suddenly find myself able to attend, *thinking about it* depending on the weather (i.e. not going if it's rainy the whole day). Just thought I'd ask, as my F car is in the shop...
did anyone go today, im curious as to how it is and what to expect tomorrow, i saw an f50, f40, and a zonda on my way to work today, i assume they were going up there.
Whoever didn't go should really think about coming today!!! In attendance- Enzo F50 3xF40 FXX MC12 Zonda roadster 2x333SP 5 or 6 250 GTO's about 10 Challenge Stradale's and some other truly amazing cars.
The FXX did spin at the exit of the downhill, managed to stay on the track, and came to a stop, facing the entrance to the pits . . . right on the line. I was the fourth car in line behind it. Most of us managed to make it to the right of the FXX to avoid it. One unlucky guy took an agricultural excursion to the left to avoid it. Nobody hit it, luckily, though the thought did run through my mind - "hey, I coulda been the first guy to center punch an FXX!" vty, --Dennis
Dennis: The "agricultural excursion" was taken by my son. The rationale (and a very quick and wise one) was that Benny was facing the entrance to the pits. If Benny decided to move at that time it would have been right across the track. To avoid being the first to join with an FXX, Adam opted to go left. Good decision. Regards, Ron
Dunno what happened to the FXX, but it was still sitting there on the next lap around. Maybe it stalled and it took awhile to get it restarted? Maybe there was too much traffic for Benny to pull it forward? Maybe he fainted from almost being hit by a chain of Challenge cars? vty, --Dennis
Was in the staging area when the event occurred so was right across the track seeing it all happen. It appears once stopped he had to restart the engine but she would not move (maybe not engaging in gear or somehow stalled?). So it seems the car was shut down (perhaps rebooted electronically) and that took about an additional 30 seconds and then got her moving. It was good to see that there was no damage. As for the weekend itself, what a blast! Amazing cars, great people both drivers and the public. The variety of cars was quite good and great to hang out with the vintage guys on Friday evening. Most of the vintage guys really love the cars and history and take these $,$$$,$$$ cars out and drive as they were meant to be driven, not rotting away in some museum-like atmosphere. The flag/pit staff at the track was EXCELLENT!!! Like Dennis said in a previous post, the track was a bit crowded at times, though did get a few good openings here and there, with the last run on Friday being clear sailing and good point-bys. Saturday's rain seemed to have had many of the more experienced (red/blue run group) duck for cover. The track was not allowing slicks so guys without rain tires were left SOL. This allowed crazy me the freedom to track in the rain as no one else dared, but they closed the track when a severe shower moved in and black flagged me off the track (got some interesting data on my GPS logger too). G-d bless the Mich Pilot Sport PS2 tires i carry for rain days. Lime Rock in the rain is an amazing learning experience and found a few more known good grippy spots that were not known due to previous rain runs. Best laps were hovering around 1:08/1:09, and judging from the data i need to carry more speed at the downhill and stop chickening out in fear of spinning off into the wall/tires to the left. Most important of all, it was great to meet so many Fchatters. Awesome new guys and it was good to see a few familiar faces as well. Look forward to seeing many of you at Watkins Glen September 1, 2 and 3. As always...
