Thanks for posting this great list, David! You do a GREAT job with the historic challenge! Lime Rock Park always features fabulous Ferraris. Six 250 GTOs, incredible! Good to see that Bob Dusek plans to bring both 0832 and 0570 M. See photos below. COPYRIGHT MARCEL MASSINI Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

500 TRC #0670 MDTR will most probably not make it to Lime Rock Park since it is going to be one of the star cars for sale at the upcoming RM Auction in Monterey/CA on 18/19 August 2006. Marcel Massini
Really looking forward to seeing everyone there. Not only will 0383/GT be making its debut race with her new owner, it will be my dailey driver for the weekend. The new owner will also probably get the award for farthest driven race car as he and his wife plan on driving it from their home in Maryland to the race! He rang me a few minutes ago and asked what I suggested he bring in case of a problem... Simple answer is the universal old car tool.... A CELL PHONE! Cheers, Bill
I'll be there taking pictures. If anyone has any special requests please let me know. Also if anyone else is going and would like to meet up PM me.
THIS coming weekend, starts Friday till Sunday 23rd July 2006. Location: Lime Rock Park/CT. Marcel Massini

Bill, You forgot one other thing that every Italian exotic car owner always carries when traveling with their car. Their AAA Plus card. Joe
I was planning on coming up today but it didn't happen. Is it worth just coming up for Sunday? If so, what's Sunday's schedule? Art S.
No, a fire extinguisher......THEN you need the cell phone. An extingiusher works in any location, cell phone coverage can have gaps... Agree with Dr. Who....will any of the channels air this where mere mortals can watch????
Interesting lap times from the Lime Rock Historic Challange Qualifying Rounds. In the Drum brake class, The top 3 were in the 1.07-1.08 range with a Maserati 200 SI first, 250 GT LWB TDF, second and a mid 30's (!) Alfa 8C. The top 3 Disc brake cars were between 1.01-1.06 with 1st 365 P2, 2nd 250GTO, 3rd 196SP. There were 6 GTO's there mostl running in the 1.05-1.07 range. The two 512BB/LM's were not in the qualifying round due to problems but posted practice times in the 56-59 sec. range. I was clocking the best 355/360 Challenge cars in the 1.05 +,- range. Last year I clocked a Z06 on slicks at 58 sec. I would have thought the "modern" race cars with wide slicks and more power would have shown better comparative times than these "old" race cars running skinny tires with mostly less power. What gives? Anyone else have LRP times?
howdy, Lou! I typically run under a minute there without much trouble (on old tires) in my F355CH. A F355CH on new slicks should be under 57 seconds. A 360 Challenge with new tires is under 54 seconds. Yesterday, a few of the 360CH boys (with the GT aero package) were running about a minute. Couldn't really go fast - way too much traffic, as the groups were combined to make up some scheduling problems and bad weather. I think I had about a half session of clear track the entire two days - not complaining mind you, because it was a lot of fun, just noting that it was really packed. There were some Challenge cars (and other "race" cars) driven by relative newcomers, so that may account for some of the laptimes you recorded. vty, --Dennis
Just got back to California. Very beat. Great weekend even with the rain. My friend Charlie and his wife drove their TDF nearly 400 miles to make the race. The car ran like a champ on the road and track. I did two sessions and even going very easy on the car was able to run a two laps at just under 1.15. Charlie really showed what the car was capable of and managed to break 1.10 on at least one fast lap. During the qualifying session and went to second hard a few times late-braking and trail braking in and out of big-bend and damaged the clutch face pretty bad. I pulled it all apart and adjusted it as best as I could but there was not way it was going to hold up for two races and one more practice session and then be able to get them back home. They made it home ok but reported that the rain was insane all the way to Maryland. At one point under a bridge they had to go through over a foot of water with tons of cars stranded on the side of the road. Except for the starter motor giving them a few scares they made it home without issue. I will arrange to get the car further sorted then see whats next on the race schedule were we can put the car back out and have some fun. Cheers, Bill Noon
Hello Bill, I've tried to PM you but your inbox is full. I have a question about the 308 GTB/M you own/owned. Sorry for the thread highjack. Best, Peter
