on track today in our 430 and someone spun the car , it will now not start , when you try and start it will put the hazards on , on the dash it will show the hazard sign , fuel with a cross through , and the traction sign , will turn over but not start , i have tryed the kill switch for 20min , and also ice setting for 10 secs and sport for 10 sec to reset but still the same .it has half a tank of fuel in too so its ok for that , can anyone help??

I am not an expert, but it would appear that you have tripped the inertia switch that has resulted in cutting off the fuel supply. You need to reset the fuel cut-off inertia switch that is located on the left hand side of the passenger compartment in the lower part of the front door pillar and is protected by a metal bracket (driver side front left). Make sure there are no fuel leaks and then remove the cover and press the button on the switch. Turn the key to position II, wait a few seconds and the engine should start. Hope this helps.

Yes, I agree with Hard10, its most likely your inertial fuel cutoff switch, located in USA cars on the drivers side under the kick panel. I will attach an image. Just push to reset (never had one trip personally).

Its J015 in the attached Image.

**WARNING; Make sure when you reset it and turn the ignition ON to prime your fuel system, that you do not have fuel leaking under the rear bonnet. Fire is bad.

    Hope it's only this.

My concern is that the motor has been spun in reverse through the spin. The motto is "In a spin - two feet in". Don't know if this is an F1 or whether or not F1 observes the motto but hopefully it's just the inertia sensor.

Do please let us know. Best of luck.

    Greg.

Greg, Good job scaring the OP to death ;)

In the workshop manual the icon for the fuel inertia sensor is the same one described by the OP, a fuel can with a cross through it. I have never tripped mine, thus have never actually seen it on the dash.

Agreed! If every F1 F430 that ever spun had a major problem, the junkyards would be full of them!

Start simple and work from there. Most likely, it's not serious.

Hmmm. Yeah, in hindsight I might have kept my mouth shut. Sorry OP Joe, ignore me, as BDelp has said, the wrecking yards would be full of 430s if this was possible.
