Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Massa says the car has awesome potential but it will be a work in progress...lets see if Fred can bring some of those development skills to the table.... Mario Andretti used to say that he could tell a great car the first time he drove it, and that a bad car was like a racehorse with three good legs and one bad one; no matter how hard that horse trained it would never be as fast as a horse with four good legs....still too early to tell...
Great analogy. I have to whole-heartedly agree that it is far too soon to tell considering what Mclaren pulled off with MP4-26 last year. More trackside reports I am reading from independant journalists and driver don't have nice things to say about the car so far though. Lazy in the corner yet twitchy out of the corner is the most common thing I'm hearing though.
LOL. True that. Kimi reporting he hates the steering of the Lotus. A new steering mechanism is being brought to the next test per Lotus.
understeer in, oversteer out.....see what Innes Ireland wrote about his one off Ferrari 156 drive: "I was asked to submit a report to Ronnie Hoare at Maranello Concessionaires, presumably for onward transmission to the factory. I told them that it wasn't just understeering, but that the wire wheels were flexing everywhere! I suggested that they fit a wider track. I tried hurling it through the corners to induce oversteer, but the transition was frighteningly quick when it lurched to oversteer. You could rev it like hell, though." some things never change lol....
HAHA! So true (sadly). In wonder if McLaren are sandbagging. I have been following closely and haven't read anything one way or the other. They seem to be pretty coy.
The Ferrari is running a bit better today but I'm hearing Alonso still has to fight the thing into corners.
I'm hearing the Mercedes is probably testing their mercury hydraulic system as well as a number of engineers watching the car at curva expo have stated the car is amazingly flat. Apparently one team video recorded Merc braking and turning into this corner to analyze lol.
I'm sure you're right. It's funny thinking about it though. I visualize a group of Monty Python-ish engineers in white coats trying to hide a high quality video recording device under their jackets.
Another "FWIW".... Final day 3 times; Still very early doors, but I suspect Eric is sleeping better than Stefano right now...... Cheers, Ian
I like the test results for Ferrari this season a lot better than last season. At least there can only be good suprises this time and not bad ones. lol
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/97453 alrighty then....Thank God I'll have Euro 2012 to help pass the time...
Hey, you changed my quote!..... ["Early doors" is a British expression used when one gets to the pub right at opening time..... ] Indeed. I suspect if they get 'er going Rory will appear. If not, Nick will be the fall guy...... Does anyone really have any idea if/how much Rory was truly involved? We speculated wildly a while back but AFAIK he hasn't been seen either in Maranello or the paddock? Cheers, Ian
After listening to Felipe i started thinking "the car is crap"....now i'm starting to think "Magacrap..f92 all over again!!!"
