I was looking to adjust my linkage. It appears theres a couple ways to adjust 2 different ways. While reading up on it I saw a few threads where it says the 3 bolts going thru that round section that I have pictured (NOT FROM MY CAR)have to be loosened up as well. . The adjusting long nut with the 2 lock nuts on each side is there but aft of that the book says there should be 3 bolts going thru this round piece that you see in the pic. The problem is I don't have that round piece with the 3 bolts going thru it on my 355. Does anyone know why I don't have it. Maybe they changed it mid year. If so, besides adjusting the locknuts to move the gearshift forward and backward, how do you adjust to move the gearshift side to side,,thanks

Actually pretty easy with two people. If you loosen just one locknut you can adjust the shifter side to side. The round coupling really isn't necessary.

Heres a pic of mine. so your saying to loosen one of these lock nuts that I have circled. which one would you loosen or doesn't it matter. im beginning to think to loosen the one towards rear of car, then turn the long nut which turns that whole shaft which will end up moving the shifter? . Am I correct

You don't have that round thing because your car is a 1995 model. Adjustment is a little tougher but not too hard. The turnbuckle thing has left and right handed thread. The side closer to the transmission is the right handed thread. Loosen that, adjust the angle, tighten, re test. A little adjustment goes a long way.

Ok got it. Would it be correct to say to adjust the gearshift forward and aft first to get that rite, then do the side to side?
