Any infos on this amazing silver paint ?
If I remember correctly it was Ian Coburn who first used that paint called "PURE METAL SILVER" for the central stripe livery on his tdF that was painted his persona "Grigio Coburn" color > Image Unavailable, Please Login and how it looked on his tdF > Image Unavailable, Please Login
here is another view of the ' PURE METAL SILVER' stripe > Image Unavailable, Please Login the color of both the the car paint and the stripe change in appearance depending on the light. The difference can be quite striking > Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login once indoors with artificial light the Grigio Coburn color changes again > Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love Grigio Coburn! My understanding is Liquid Metal Silver is not the same. I've never seen it, but its been described to me as like Argento Nurburgring on steroids. I've imagined it as something approaching one of the triple layer whites but with out the pearl. I've had several people tell me it is fantastic looking, but expensive.
Is it the same? BMW Individual - Pure Metal Silver (color code: P13) This paint looks absolutely stunning in the flesh - It has the look of polished aluminum. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
First apologies for the poor translation of your question! Caeruleus11 is correct the Liquid Metal Silver is a different paint than the Pure Metal Silver that was used on the stripe livery for the American tdF. Here is a USA build 228999 tdF wearing Liquid Metal Silver along with Canna di Fucile paint for the roof. This tdF was also a tailor made build car. Nice, but still not as nice as the bare aluminum F12 on this forum. I wonder what the PPG paint name says for the non-metal parts that had to be painted (bumpers).
I don't think the paint itself was mentioned on the paint sticker. Simply reads 'ALLUMINIO GREZZO SPAZOLATO' - Aluminum Raw Brushed.
So to my knowledge there have been a few Liquid Metal Silver cars done by the Tailor Made Crew. There has been only 1 TDF made in Pure Metal Silver (one car total has been painted).
They might be floating out there - but at the time of my Pista Ordering there wasnt any more they could inform me of, and then they pulled the color off the pallet. There IS a paint code in my paint system for this under Ferrari. I am unaware if they brought the color back under TM yet.
The UK car is a tailor made car yes. The only f12tdf i know that is unique in the(rare) colour is a UK tailor made car painted in verde masoni opaco, it’s it a true 1 of 1 the only tdf in that rare colour
The color does not translate well in pictures. Looks washed out grey or a dull white on my monitor. That Grigio Coburn is damn sharp! But then again Toyota makes a very competitive metallic silver that is really great. If you have a VS it should be in a non-standard color IMO unless its just a flip.
This is the UK Pure Metal Silver car. It must surely have one of the most extensive options list build plaques to leave the factory. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Definitely one the highest spec car along with the green verde masoni car agreed. I believe this car is for sale, in the region of £1.15 million.

There are actually 2 other tdf with a unique colour-scheme i believe : one in the usa in bare aluminium ( i believe the owner is an active fchat member) and another one owned by instagram famous swiss collector gregb23, his tdf is supposedly the last one and painted in verdegb23 ( named after himself) , another very high spec tdf ( if not thr highest spec car), although i’m not a big fan of that car personally
I saw the UK Pure Metal Silver TDF car in the flesh on Saturday. There are so many interesting details, eg. the special leather, matte chrome badges, signed engine bay.
It’s a beautiful and very special car. I wonder how long it will take to sell. Its very rare to find such a special TM tdf withthat mileage. And price wise its not a bad deal when you realise than “standard” 812c are selling near £1.5M
