I got out of coin collecting quite a few years ago and have been piece-mealing things off slowly. It's down to the last bunch of stuff and time to just clean out the safe. I'd love to just sell this whole lot to one person but I will break some of it up as listed below. I'll let the whole lot go to an Fchatter for $1550 plus shipping.

This is easily well over $2,000 worth of coins. I'm just ready to get rid of them. Please don't ask to break up the Proof set collection, it'll be too much of a pain to sell them off individually.

$940 complete-- US Proof set collection complete from 1957 all the way through 2008 including the three special mint sets from 1965, 1966, and 1967 when no official proof sets were made. Also includes duplicates of several years..... 2 each from 1968, 2 each from 1971, 4 each from 2005, and 2 each from 2006, 2007, and 2008 all including the presidential dollar proof coins. I'll also toss in one each 1968 and 1971 mint set as well as one three piece Bicentennial Silver Proof set with this package. That makes for a total of 64 SETS of coins just in this bunch!!

$140-- 2003 Canadian Maple leaf Hologram Silver Proof set.

$125-- 2003 National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial Medal Salmon PROOF 3 each!! $45 each individually.

$40-- 2003 National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial Medal Bald Eagle one Proof and one Bronze medallion.

    $10-- 1989 D Congressional Commemorative Dollar

$55-- 2003 First Flight Commemorative Proof Dollar 2 Each $30 each separately

$60-- 2006 San Francisco Old Mint Commemorative Dollars 2 each Proof and 2 each Mint uncirculated. 4 coins total or $35 for one each proof one uncirculated set.

    $20-- 2007 and 2008 Presidential $1 coin Proof sets...2 each 2007 and one 2008. 3 sets total

$100-- One each 1878 S Morgan Silver dollar, 1887 P Morgan Silver dollar, 1896 O Morgan Silver Dollar. 3 coins total $40 individually.

$260-- 2006 American Eagle 20th Anniversary Silver coin set.

Just a question, because I sincerely do not know . . . why do people buy proofs?

Just because they look pretty. :) I get the question though. I've always thought pretty much the same about collecting modern day stamps. Just a hobby I guess.
