John, Unless you have an absolutely burning ambition to own a 348, Please do some research into the ownership experience, costs & resale values ! You'll be very surprised, Better you know now than get bitten later, I am in no way inviting antagonism from 348 drivers, If the car you own is acceptable to you that's fantastic....But my 'personal' opinion, and let's face it we are all entitled, is that a late 328 or early 355 would be a far better ownership proposition. Please be sure before you lay down your cash ! Regards, Steve
Steve, thanks for the advice but I have researched the 348 for about 12 months and know all the pitfalls regarding maintenance costs and the many electrical gremlins it seems to possess. I will be after a post 92 model which has most issues resolved I would love a 355 but the budget doesn't stretch that far. I was originally tempted by the 328 but personally prefer the looks of the 348. Regards John
Hi, I'm British but been living in the USA for 5 years now...still consider myself a Brit though! I've got a 308 GTS QV & 512 BBi It would be good to hear from anyone in the 'homeland'!
Matt, With due respect to all those guys with "modern" cars, it sure is good to welcome someone with a bonafide "classic"! Stig
Thanks for the compliments guys the Daytona is IMO the best car in the world (unless you are stuck in a traffic jam on a hot day!!) One more pic Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great car Matt, I always love to look under the bonnet of a Daytona - all that engine!!! (And all of those carbs!) Welcome to F-chat! Paul
Matt Much respect for the condition of your car...It looks superb, we need to compare the shine some day??.........other users who attended last meet will appreciate that last remark.. Welcome to Fchat... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Joe, your pencil must be smokin' with the amount of UK names we've collected and you've written down! Didn't think there'd be such a big response.... Tony
Thanks for that the car was last repainted in 1985 by Moto Technique. The interior is in not quite so good shape, but I rather like the patina of use on it. I am considering repainting it as the original colour was Dino Blue which it looks even sexier in IMO. For those of you that like classic Ferrari's this one isn't mine but does belong to a member of my family and its not a replica!! 250 SWB Ch 3605gt Image Unavailable, Please Login
Tony, Hopefully get all these guys out in the summer next year for a bash... It would be great to see all the cars and meet all the different people..
I've not driven the 250 yet partly becaue I'm 6ft 2" and its a really tight squeeze to get behind the wheel. (The Daytona has a lot more room) and, this may be heresy but given the choice I like the Daytona so much more. Not sure but I don't think the car was at Oulton this year but it certainly was at the FOC concourse in the summer (parked just to the left of members tent).
Another one for the list..... New boy on the site, proud owner of a 98 355GTS manual. At this rate ,may have to hire out Brands' for the day !!
Greetings from New York - hope you all have amazing New Years celebrations & look forward to meeting lots of you guys next year. That Daytona looks amazing..my personal favourite f-car. Has anyone been keeping count f the number of owners registered on this thread? Cheers, Marc.
