Does anyone have any experience with these lights, neither of mine work. I assume they are supposed to work when headlights are on,correct? I removed the two screws thinking i'd check the bulbs first, but cannot figure out they come apart.Any help and info would be appreciated. BTW, i first did a search but found nothing related.
    Thanks,
    B.

should come on when a door is opened. remove the 2 screws and pull the assembly from the hole. The lens and shroud can slide off the socket to replace the bulb if needed.
If the buld and everything there looks good, the problem may be in the door jamb at the switch(button). You can gently pry that out to look at the connection. It is possible that there is corrosion on one or both sides of the assembly. The drives side has 2 on the jamb.

Use care! They are just plastic sleeves with lamps inside. However, the insulation on the connectors has often been hot and can shrink back from the connectors. Those connectors can short out against the metal hole of the door and cause untold problems. My '79 308GTB's connectors were completely BARE. Fortunately I had the battery disconnected and was working from the inside of the door. -rick

While you are there, if the rubber O-ring around the base of the light is crackedbroken/missing, measure the inside dia of the base and get a couple of rings at the local parts store. Thats what I did when I was working on my lights. For thoses of you that have your cars judged at shows, those O-rings are worth an extra 1/2 point.

The plumbing dept, in hardware stores, can also be a good source for O-rings.

Can anyone suggest where to find new ones? Racambi wants $50 bucks each! Yikes! Someone have a good used one they want to sell? Just noticed that FerrParts.com has for $31.93. Thanks for the lead.

These door jam switches are the same as used in the Fiat X1/9. Much cheaper thru Fiat parts suppliers, same part.

Ok guys i got the light out of the door and unplugged, all connections look great no corrosion or rust. How do i get the ''oval shaped flange and red lens off,i have pulled and pryed and i'm afraid i'm going to break it. The red lens spins in the white plastic housing but won't budge as far as coming off! What am i missing or just not pulling, prying hard enough?
    Thanks again,
    B.
