Can't wait to see him racing!!! I'm supporting this guy 100%.
So far he did perfect on friday practice despite having to go off track in Malaysia because his suspension broke. I think he can be the next youngster to be on top of F1. (same category as Alonso and Kimi)
But before he does that, he will have to show his talent in Imola, Barcelona and Monte Carlo. If he can finish in the points and ahead of DC = mission accomplished Liuzzi.

I'v watched him last year in F3000 when he won the championship.
7 wins from a total of 10 starts, including 9 pole positions. He holds the joint all-time record for F3000 wins along with Montoya and Heidfeld.

    Forza Liuzzi !

PS: An announcement regarding who will fill the role of Friday test driver at the San Marino GP will be made in due course.

Gatorrari brought this up already in here:

But it is such good news, that it deserves its own thread.
    :)

Especially as it also means Scott Speed will make his F1 debut in Friday's practice session. And I might get just even more exited about that part of the story line.

It is not that Klien didn't do a good job. It is more that RBR are in the comfortable position to have three good drivers. Allegedly Liuzzi has it in his contract, that he alternates races with Klien.

Both Klien and Liuzzi signed a contract to race this season.
BTW Dietrich Mateschitz (the big boss of Red Bull Racing) is a huge Liuzzi fan. Mateschitz and Klien are both austrians. To me it looks like Mateschitz had no choice to sign Klien. He was forced ...because his country would be mad and CK driving for Jaguar last year and not getting another chance would be stupid.

I think Mateschitz tought Klien wouldn't do so well in those 3 first races. Now some will criticize him for this decision but remember they both signed a contract so they can race.

True, so what will happen now. Liuzzi will race for 3 races and who ever did better, between Liuzzi and Klien, will get the ride for the rest of the year?

I think Mr. Mateschitz should drop David Coulthard and put Liuzzi in his seat and keep Klien. DC has been around for a long time (9 years), it's time to get some new young talent.

Can't believe I'm defending DC, but here it goes: They need somebody with experience to develop the car. I don't think any of the young guys has that know-how.

I don't know what's going on in Mr. Mateschitz head. I think he wants to let all his drivers drive. Scott Speed and Neel Jani are each going to have their turn to drive during friday practice when Liuzzi races. Because Klien can't be #3 driver on friday, Klien will race more GP's than Liuzzi, that's for sure. It will great to see Liuzzi race 6 straight GP's so we can see Scott Speed at Indianapolis and Montreal but that wouldn't be fair for Klien and Mr. Mateschitz said Liuzzi doesn't have too much experience on those circuits.

Me too I'd prefer to see Klien and Liuzzi driving for the Red Bull team. But I agree with tifosi12, the team needs Coulthard.

True I don't disagree with you, then make him the test / backup driver! I think DC just like JV has lost it (whatever that "it" is).

    It really depends...

Kimi and Alonso pretty much have a future race seat at Ferrari in the bag. Liuzzi depending upon talent, performane, timing and circumstances could be a future driver. It is hard to tell at this point.

Kimi, maybe. But I think getting the royal treatment at Renault will ruin Alonso as a driver. Give him a less than ideal car, and he may just sulk or pull it into the garage -- a bit like a a couple of former champions that aren't doing that well in F1 this year.

That's pretty tough for Klien as he's been good so far, but I really do want to see if Liuzzi can race.

    LOL

I'm a big fan of Alonso, but you might have touched on a weak spot. He was less impressive last year. I think he still has a lot to learn about improving a mediocre car.

DC still has something left, he still does well in the races and is the true meaning of a team player. Apparently he radioed in after his qualiying at Malaysia and told the team to have Klein put more front wing on the car which made him outqualify DC. Would Schu have done this for Rubens? Nope.As far as setting up the car, He's probably the only reason why the car is good so far this year. If i developed the car and someone pulled me out of the race seat i might just start forgetting to tell the engineers things.

That's a good question, whatever 'it" is? The fact is the circumstances define who is a good driver as much as the driver. Look at Ferrari, and imagine Schumacher had broken his ankle playing soccer just before the first race. The team somehow brings in DC and he performs one place better than Shumacher has the first three races of this season.
    DC would be crucified.

Wow that's pretty impressive, I might have to change my idea of DC.

I don't doubt the fact that the only reason RDB is doing so well is because of DC's input and testing.

Plus DC will always hold a place in my heart for flipping MS the bird during a race, lol
