I think this is a little polishing a turd, but I also believe the bad reports of CW ratings wasn't accurate. The biggest problem the first weekend was there wasn't good publicity it would be shown on CW and not everyone has CW access. They lost a bunch of viewership from people like me because they didn't show the entire event on YouTube. Evidently you can watch from their app too, but that's another hurdle just like it was to watch on CW.

I think their viewership will go up as the word about CW and their app get out.

I'm not so sure we will see many of these guys back on the PGA or SPGA Tour, with all they are
getting paid by the LIV - not counting what they win on that tour.
Why Grind? I mean, I know people do things 'for the love of the game', no matter what that 'game' is,
we are seeing guys make bank and walk away a lot sooner than people think, such as Nico Rosberg,
and some guys in the NFL that made enough to live on and decided the pain isn't worth it.
I think it's really going to explode in the next 3-5 years - guys just deciding they can live fine
on 25 million (they will net 11 million of that) and just walk away....

Tiger has had more operations than he can count - but the competitive spirit of him vs the course drives him,
he certainly doesn't need the $$$ (but he's making a ton from Nike, still....) << he is the exception?

I have no idea why they have a beef with the PGA, maybe for the same reason Jay Leno doesn't like Ferrari?

they will be spoiled and never do a 20 tournament year again, but I believe they will still try to compete a few tournaments less than that like majors, Ryder Cup, etc.

so you like watching golf for 8 hours a day, just rotating a couple groups at start and the end following just the finishing couple groups?

ha, I guess I would agree just on Sunday final 3-5 holes a close finish. I want to focus on leaders and not 18 holes of golfers.

Especially going from the LIV, where you golf 3 days/54 holes, to 4 days/72 holes.
One of the attractions of the LIV is that 'extra day off'.

As it is now you end Sunday and fly/drive home, recover Monday, practice with your coach
on Tuesday, and head to the next tournament on Wednesday, try to play a practice round
on that Wednesday, and play for real on Thursday AM.
Most folks don't even think about that grind...

I haven't watched LIV golf for a few tournaments, Adelaide is rocking! Very crowded and the fans are unhinged, I'm loving it. Decent storyline too with Gooch getting way out ahead first 2 rounds and now coming back to the field.

LIV may be able to get some traction in Australia as the other tours have neglected it.

'On Course' looks a little low for Phil.

'Off Course' looks pretty good for Tiger - which is why he won't quit....
    But when is enough, 'enough'?

1.1 Billion seems 'enough' to me....?

So Taylor Gooch had 47% of his LIV win in Australia taken out for Australian taxes. How does that work, he's American, Australia takes 47%, now how much will America try to take?

As if he didn't know that going in....one of my mentors, fellow Pennsylvanian C. Robert Powell used to say "Nobody ever went broke paying taxes."

no, I just don't understand taxes for international events. Australia gets all the sales tax from the event and all the various support businesses do well. Someone who isn't even an Australian citizen gets 47% of the winnings taken, for what? I also then wonder as an American Citizen if his winnings are subject o any American taxes.

Rob...state and local jurisdictions do this to athletes in the States as well. A Carolina hockey player plays a game in New York, his prorated game pay is whacked for NY State and local taxes. I think most jurisdictions do this.

OK, well if the local jurisdiction takes their cut, then your "home" jurisdiction shouldn't take any because you didn't do the event at home.

LIV Oklahoma on TV now. I'm excited to watch, it is sad what the PGA Byron Nelson has become in Dallas. It use to attract the biggest names.

I just don't get why LIV is pushing the teams so much, it honestly puts me off, but I'm going to give it one last try this weekend. I'm going to look at the teams, pick my favorite one, and then root for them this weekend.

Yeah, I remember years' ago Drew Brees was playing a California team in California,
and he commented the State of Cal sent him a tax bill of nearly $60,000

Too bad a player cannot figure out how to play certain games literally 'for free', just to piss off certain states.
I wonder what happens if you make the trip to CA but never play a down, or if you
are on the team but don't make the trip to CA because you are injured?
I would assume A) has to pay taxes, B) should not - but you never know.

Wouldn't it be funny if you could legally find a way to be paid only for Home games,
and you play every Road game for no pay???

I wonder if you could set up a team as a 'non-profit' - that all 'profits' are set up as
a 'bonus', or fund a zillion charities?

There is a reason you see most every Hospital is a 'non-profit' Corporation - and
build new wings, parking garages, add multi-million dollar machines - but can't seem
to pay Nurses, and continue to cut Dr pay.
I know two Dr's that have left working for a certain organization here because they
wanted to cut their pay 25% - while the CEO got a HUGE bonus....

I wonder how long Tiger Woods endorsements will continue to pay up?

I think that may be why he wants to keep coming back: to stay relevant?
I mean, he doesn't resonate in the.... sports community with 'Air Jordans'.
And whats' funny is I have NO idea what shoes LeBron pushes....

Jack Nicklaus makes a bunch from his course design company, Tiger doesn't have that?? (yet)

Tiger will always have huge endorsements, although his shenanigans might eventually catch up with him. He should have been cancelled awhile ago, but he has received several second chances.
