For LM owners and experts - What are the best tire options (non Perelli Scorpion) for a 1991 LMA? I'm trying to find one that looks as close to the Scorpions as possible in look/size/stance.

I've seen several trucks with Super Swampers, but heard there may be some better options out there...Falken? General Gripper?

Any advice (brand/style/size) would much appreciated.

    Thanks

BTW The BFG 315/70-17 is 1 inch taller than the Pirelli Scorpion 345/60-17, so for the spare tire on the back trunk door it will not fit. I made a special spacer/adapter.

Why not just stick with the Pirellis? The factory had them made last year... and they look great on the LM!

    Good luck either way!

    Really ? Where ?
I could not find them. There are max 5 sets (25 tires) available on the planet at the moment, all of them wanted $16k-$20k.
    Ridiculous.

Those tires used to be $700-$800 each
(The 1st gen Scorpion with sand lips were $1500 each IIRC)

your thinking the STR tires, through Pirelli uses the Scorpion name for some other tires in it's line up, are far from the same tire ....the LM Scorpion tires are really hard to find, and expensive as he** now

Thanks for the responses. Actually, my understanding is the LM Scorpions (road version) are currently available through dealers/factory, but you have to buy a set of 5 and cost is $12-15k US.

I am trying to find more reasonably priced alternatives.

I used super swamper trxus sts tires on my old LM. They where way lighter, balanced good and not bad road noise.

If you want stock LM tires then give Roy Cats a call, he can find them for you!

I'm surprised that neither Pirelli nor anyone alse wants to produce 345/60-17 size tires.
Well... Pirelli did make 205/50-15 again finally.
Let's just hope they had don't have long lunches with lambrusco and forget about 345/60-17.

    They used to be $700-$800...
Don't know why it needs to be $3000-$4000 each now

Yeah, they are expensive... you might talk to your dealer and see if they will do a little better pricing for you.

May have found a great alternative to the Scorpions - Falken Wildpeake A/T size 325 70 R17 (identical tire sold as Falken "Rocky Mountain" at Discount Tire).

Tread and stance appear close to the road Scorpions, and they look like they belong on the LM. And, perhaps the best thing...readily available for $250-300/tire.

    I'm having some installed now.

Here's a link to a YouTube video of a truck wearing these tires, and looks great.
