From all the sites I visit regularly, it seems that LMS is going to be the place to be for sports car racing this year. For ALMS, it seems the place to be is Sebring... otherwise it appears the series has the potential for a small grid this season. Full season: P1 is the two Acura's (Highcroft and deFerran), possibly Intersport, Autocon?, Corsa? P2 is Fernandez and two Dyson Lola/Mazdas and possibly a third car. GT1 is only Sebring and possibly up to LeMans (still racing even though the company is in dire straights). The racing will be in GT2 as has been in the past.

LMS seems to be a totally different story! Announced yesterday, an American team is running a Saleen - Full Speed Racing are entering a the car in LMS , hopefully Le Mans and possibily in FIA-GT. Graham Nash will run the outfit and one of the drivers is related to Olivia Newton-John ..... nephew -> Emerson . A spectulative LMS grid thus far has 11 P1 (that w/o Pugs); 13 P2; 2 GT1; 20 GT2 for 46 cars, a few down from the previous year but double ALMS without Audi (Sebring's grid will not be the normal for the season). Speedy Sebah announced LMP1 and LMP2 Lola coupes for this year; the LMP1 will find Nicolas Prost as one of the drivers.

FIA-GT spectulative entries has Ferrari out numbering the Porsches and hopefully there may be a third MC-12 in the series. That would be terrific if it's true. Looks like a second car is possible for Scuderia Ecosse (adding to the Ferrari count).

LeMans replies were due this week so hopefully forthcoming we'll see who fills the Penske spots, Van Merjestein (spelling?), Horag Spyder allocations and what will replace the MC-12 on the list. I suspect that despite economic conditions there will be a full grid for the race.

Anxiously awaiting a certain Ferrari announcement this week!!!!!!!!

We might get an official LMS entry list after the comittee meets tomorrow.
Might get more after winter testing for Sebring this weekend too, for developments on that front. Can't wait to see how the Rahal BMWs go, myself.

There are nine entries representing five different manufacturers from the highly competitive GT2 class. One of the highlight is the new BMW M3 for BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team. Familiar faces Bill Auberlen, Joey Hand and Tom Milner will see time in the M3.

Five Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs will be present with three from Flying Lizard Motorsports. Darren Law, Seth Neiman and Johannes van Overbeek are in one car with Porsche factory drivers and former class champions Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long in the other. All five Lizard drivers will see extended testing time in the third Porsche as well. The team's full-season plans centre on a two-car attack in search of a second straight class championship.

Dirk Werner and Wolf Henzler will drive a Porsche for Farnbacher Loles Racing in their first season together. A fifth Porsche is listed for Team Falken Tire, a new entry to the Series.

LG Motorsports is bringing its Riley-built Corvette C6 with drivers Lou Gigliotti, Tomy Drissi and Randy Ruhlman. Robertson Racing has entered its Doran-Ford GT-R for Andrea and David Robertson, and David Murry. Tom Milner's Panoz Team PTG also plans to take the team's Panoz Esperante GTLM.

"It will be a hard year," Milner said. "But the Panoz will be a contender, much more than this past year. I am looking forward to it."

Unfortunately it appears that Audi is just going to be at Sebring. Petit may change depending on how hungry cars are for that 24h invitation! After the 24h the GT1 Vettes become GT2...that should prove interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if we see two Risi cars for the longer races. For the longer races, Dario will be with the Highcroft LMP1 Acura, that a good thing. I think the AF Corse car is Sebring only as it runs FIA-GT. I would be quite surprised to see Vici with three, two perhaps.

Guess the Daytona 24h got many of us "fired-up" for the start of the season in March!
