My wife's friend has a huge lobster boil every year. They had 10-20 cases flown in from Nova Scotia. I'm not a huge lobster fan but at this boil I learned how to dip in vinegar too and it was pretty good.

    This was just leftovers. Crazy!

    My God!!!

    That had to be expensive!

Never really had quality lobster before so I'm not sure if I like it or not.

    Tastes like chicken. :)

My favorite way to have it is plain or in a lobster roll sandwich. No need to drown it in butter.

I'm sure this has come up in many a conversation with locals privy to the feast, so I'd like to see it from your perspective. Years ago, lobster was shunned by folks with money, and was eaten by the poor. What series of events turned the tide?

Marketing couple with supply and demand economics brought on by over-harvesting?? Seems like I remember hearing about some disease that killed a bunch off at one time too but maybe not???

We used to go to this place when I lived in R.I. www.nordiclodge.com. Back then it was the early 90's it was about 35.00 a person for full buffet with all you can eat lobster prime rib shrimp etc well worth it. By the time your done, I used to manage to eat about 5 lobsters, you don't even want to think about a lobster.

Grilled live whole? Or do they cut 'em in half first? Never seen a whole lobster grilled before.

After I posted I checked the website and couldn't believe how much it had gone up. Thity five to eighty two dollars is quite an increase even over the span of 15 years!

I've never had lobster, not sure I'd like it.

I didn't like shrimp, especially the cold one I tried, the warm one I tried weren't appealing either. I've had it in sushi, but you couldn't really taste it.

Try it. I hate shrimp. Lobster is awesome.

Crawfish boil is a social experience as much as good eating.

I ordered some stuff from them a couple times as gifts. Pretty pricey but the recipients loved it. I think one was a complete lobster boil complete with live lobster, corn, dessert etc.
