Sometimes, a simple name is all that is needed to promote a business or publication. Consider a new pizza place in east Cobb called Real New York Pizza. Straight and to the point, and they live up to their name, with the best N.Y. style pizza I've had since I've lived in Marietta.

So it is with a new local car magazine called.....Local Car Magazine! Published quarterly, I picked up the first issue at The Mitty at Road Atlanta in April, and now the second (Summer) issue is out.

The format is modest, with 7 x 11-inch pages and a modest level of content, but the price ($1) is modest also. Issue 1 had 36 pages, with a 2-page article on the Ferrari F1 Clienti event that took place at Road Atlanta in March, an article on the Superformance version of the Ford GT Mark II, one on a couple of nice local MGBs, one on a Dodge Dart "art car" you may have seen around town, one on a neat '40 Ford street rod that outwardly looks quite stock, and a photo feature of cars arriving at Caffeine & Octane.

Issue 2 has 40 pages and articles on that Citroen 2CV wagon you've probably seen (and which was at Rides to Remember), a restored '70 Dodge Challenger (which is for sale), a '55 Ford Ranch Wagon (their counterpart to the Nomad), numerous photo features on area car shows, and a very nice photo feature on The Mitty, with a lot more photos than you'll see in Vintage Motorsport! Both issues also have classified ads and ads from many local car-related businesses.

So where to find it? The list in the current issue includes a number of Rocco's European Garage, NAPA and Kauffman Tire locations, as well as all area AAA offices and assorted other places, including Year One and Metro Wheels. More locations should be added in the future.
