Carbon, As to: " Greg, thanks... That's unfortunate that there was such a poor turnout on Rodeo... What do you think the cause was...?" I really can't tell. FoBH dominated the front area, and there were a few very nice vintage Ferrari's. There was a fantastic red 328 GTB as well as a few others. It is certainly a great deal of work for the promoters to close Rodeo for a Sunday, and that might have something to do with it. There is somewhat limited space, but with interest it could extend a few more blocks. Access is somewhat limited, and apparently the fire dept wants in-line parking on Rodeo which takes up more space. I think also that it is not well known and not yet well promoted, but there is a web site coming up for it. There was a web site in Italy I had come across that had it listed! It is my understanding that Andy Cohen from BH Classic cars is behind it. It is possible it just is too much work for a few persons. I think I will talk with him and get involved for future years. I think there should be a table for Forum members to congregate and meet. Maybe Rob 'frito" Lay can encourage a few to do this. I had forgotten my camera so most unfortunately I have no photos. This was it's 8th show. How long has the one in Atlanta been on the hook? Who are its promoters? Maybe they can share secrets from their successful event. PS: Don't forget you owe me a soda at Concorso in August!
man. great pics indeed. and the best part is, we have another Giovanni gig next Saturday. featured car's this month are Ferrari and Pantera. next month feature is still undecided. Maybe its time to see some Maserati's ? Brian
i completely forgot about that...! Unfortunately, i won't be out there this year... We'll have to rain check that soda...
Thanks for the pictures. Those 355s are so beautiful, especially that red/tan one with the challenge grill.
Nice pics Carbon! Looks like a very eclectic bunch. That Daytona is beautiful. Did anyone else beside me notice the size of the front bumper on the Pantera? I love the look of the car but that bumper is hideous! And people say the 308's noses are bad?
No it didn't.. Come on Carbon taking pictures of my dad with MY girl in the car. Your making him look good. Anyways thanks for the great pictures.
Nice coverage Carbon! Could have used a few pics of the GTV-6 behind the Daytona..but that is understandable I applaud the attention you gave the 911 SC targa - possibly one of the best bargains in cars these days: appreciating slowly in value & costs next to nothing to run if you get a good example.
Maybe he will catch the Gtv6 next time . I wouldn't have taken a picture of her that time either. She needs to be washed and have a good wax job. Next time she'll be ready. I'll try and make her stand out next to this month's "Cars of the Month."
Was that a RUF Porsche? I'll take the Lotus Elise for fun factor. Sorry, but Ferrari was common in this show. I like exotics in a strange way.
Nice photos mate. Here are a few photos of a Lancia Montecarlo. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There's a guy on the Vector forum with a very nice one (S4 motor in it too). www.vectoraeromotiveclub.com
Giugiaro. All the cars I've had or have (5 total) were designed by either Pininfarina or Giugiaro, who else can say that? Two of my Pinins, some years ago: Image Unavailable, Please Login
GTV-6 = Gran Turismo Veloce, 6 cilinder. Another Giugiaro design, the silver car parked behind the red Daytona. Can be tuned to perform AND sound better than a 308...
Come on Carbon...you and me outside...right now. Talking about my car like that. You can't diss the car that sits behind the Daytona everyday...
Ouch...Burn... I think it maybe because I try to follow the law as much as possible. I have 4 months until other kids can ride with me... But that was a good come back... I have to give you props for that one.
LOL, i had no idea...! i must obey FerrariChat's 'no picking on learner permit drivers' rule... i didn't know you were still "under the law", so i take back what i said (but i'm still snickering...)
It's not a permit...it's a real one, but there is a stupid "no one in the car" rule for 6 months. Thanks for taking it back though... (I'm laughing inside)
