I have a small re-chroming job I'd like to get done this winter and wondered if anyone can recommend a good source. I'd like to deal with someone local if possible to be able to look at the shop, shortcut shipping, etc. Thanks.

I had The Finishing Touch on the northside of Chicago do all the chrome and stainless on my car. They do excellent work. They are not cheap and they are usually very busy but the work was high quality. I had no problems with the 80+ pieces that I had them redo.

Bill, I don't know if you have experience with them or not but I would use them again. The turnaround time was long but they knew I was in no hurry so that might have had something to do with it. They pride themselves on doing things right the first time and they have only one level of chrome plating: show finish. Dave

    Hi Dave,
No, I haven't used them myself, but I have seen their work, out at Goodpaster's. I was impressed, It is great in every way. Some of their work that I have seen, included some very intricate raised stamping (an ID tag with small lettering), the fine detailed features were not diminished in any detectable manner!! That takes expert level polishing.

    Regards,
    Bill

PS - If you can break away from your obligations, Saturday night!!

Thanks everyone. Interestingly, a friend had recommended The Finishing Touch, and I stopped by their shop for a tour yesterday. Very impressive.

Just as a final update/conclusion, I got my Mangusta bumpers back from The Finishing Touch yesterday. They are absolutely exquisite. I mean they are mirror perfect. If you need chrome work done, I doubt you could find better craftsmanship anywhere. These guys are artists. In other words.....I like 'em....a lot. Thanks everybody.
