    Yesterday coming home from work I pass a sign advertising for a local charity's annual fundraiser. Too good to be true. I don't have my camera with me, so I decide that tomorrow (this) morning I'll go back and get a picture of it.

    So I start making shelves in the shop, Matteo and Darth call me I forget about the sign. Suddenly remember, grab the camera, rush over there....sign's gone.


    :(

    It said

    "Macon County Friends of Animals

    Annual Barbecue."

    Up here in Maine we like to be informed. I was in city hall paying my excise taxes a couple of years ago. The clerk's office handles everything from registering cars, boats and ATVs to marriage licenses. While standing in line, my eyes wandered to a poster on the wall explaining the steps that must be taken in order to apply for a marriage license. At the top of the notice in bold print it stated that:

    "Please Take Notice

    It is illegal to marry,

    1) A parent or grandparent
    2) A blood sibling (brother/sister)
    3) A half sibling(brother/sister)
    4) A first cousin"

    I guess nothing can be taken for granted.
