I'm replacing Testarossa tie rod ends 103592 and would like to replace the lock nut for inner tie rod. The original lock nuts are not in perfect shape so it would be wise to replace them now. On the picture I have installed a new tie rod end but didn’t tighten anything yet. I have looked at the parts diagram and this nut is not shown. This is M12, 12.9 grade nut, but I do not know the thread pitch. Can anyone help me with this or maybe know where I can get this lock nut?

I meassured on mine here several times and have been very much surprised:

    the thread is M 13 x 1,25 with a 19 mm hexagonal

    an absolutely rare thread what until now I never have seen or used before. also have no tools for this. normaly there is M 12 x 1,75 or M 12 x 1,5 or M 12 x 1,25mm, M14 x 2 or M 14 x 1,5mm
but a 13 mm thread is totally rare.
could it be perhaps inch size???

mercedes and BMW have M 14 thread. so I don´t know where to get 2 13 mm nuts from :( sorry

Try 1/2 x 20 UNF. The 20 threads per inch relates to a pitch of 1.27 in metric. If it can be found in M13 try Maryland Metrics.

SAE versus Metric. SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) uses a similar measurement system for nuts and bolts. The code follows the same layout of the metric nuts and bolts, but it uses Standard or American measurements. An M13x1.25 nut will be similar to a 1/2x20 nut. The two are not interchangeable but have threads that are close in size. SAE nuts close in size to a metric equivalent will seem to fit a metric bolt initially but will cross-thread the bolt.

    Exactly.

Many, perhaps most, suspension bits are imperial. As are all seat belts, and many transmission bearings.
