So I was getting some bags in my Lusso while at home. I opened the trunk using the button on the car key.... placed the bags and the car CAR KEY in the trunk and then closed the trunk using the trunk button. I realize that I left the key in the trunk but the trunk wouldn’t open and the doors were locked. I was completely locked out of my car. I was lucky that I was next to home as had I done that 500km away, it would have been a problem.
My RS6 obviously would have never locked the trunk or doors had it detected a key within range. Is this standard with Ferrari’s or is it my key running low on battery?

From what I've seen, you can definitely lock the car with the key inside. I believe they don't use the same bluetooth/RF that allows for truly "keyless" entry so the car alarm does not realize the key is inside.

Definitely got lucky. You would think with all the computers Ferrari would make an app to allow you to unlock the doors like every other car manuf out there...

That technology to detect key in the vicinity is a double edge sword. That's how some criminals were able to scan, hanck, and copy that frequency while nearby and drove off.
