Having driven an incident free 3000 kms from London to Barcelona then on to france, i pull up at a hotel in Nice for the F1 weekend and the passenger side door refuses to open. On trying to open the lock with the remote both doors lock and refuse to open. I have spoken with F garage here (the don`t open at weekends) and they are aware of problems like this but can not do anything till Monday. Anyone had similar problems? Any idea how to get the just one door open to be able to drive the car? ( i can deal with an engine problem but not being anble to drive the car cause of a central locking problem is just too much).

have you tried unlocking it manually with the key, can't belive that there wouldnt be a way of unlocking one in the event of a C/L failure.

I had a very similar problem on 'another brand car', basically the way the remotes work is that the car is expecting a number from a particular sequence, sometimes the car and keyfob can get out of sync.. I managed to finally get mine working by standing over the car with the keyfob and pressing it many times until the two 'got back into sync'.. I know it sounds crap but in your current situation it's probably worth a try.

Give Karl at Verdi a call. Even if you are not a customer he will still spend time (if he has it) to help you out.

    His number is:
    +44 208 756 0066.

Or his out of hours number is :
    +44 7785 760 606.

    Good Luck mate!

    Michael,

I have had some problems with my alarm. I hear there are 2 ways to reset the system via the key fob. One is to keep the button pressed for over 30 seconds. The other I do not remember exactily but it is either press the button on and off every second for 10 seconds or press 3 times very quickly. I think once you have done this leave it for a few seconds and try. I am however highly doubtful as these never worked for me 9the first suggestion came from Ferrari UK).

Do you have the formula warrantee. If you do they will be able to held you and also re-imburse you hotels and travel etc The UK number is 0800 30903. The number in Spain is 900205520.

FInally I am sure you must be able to manually open the door with the key. If you can then there is a way to disable the alarm but you need to know your code. THis is done by insreting the key in the igintion. There is a 4 digit number that you have to enter. This is done by tuning the key back and forth as per the number, then wating for more than 4 seconds and doing the same for the second number, then again for the 3rd and fourth. At the end again you must wait for over 4 secs. THen you are able to start the car. If you do not have the number you need to call Ferrari UK but again not till monday now. If they are able to give you the number then this may save you all the towing and waiting for the dealers to fix it.

    Good Luck !

I tried the key but as soon as it unlocked it re-locked itself. The dealer in Cannes has picked it up (thanks Bernard), says he has had this before and it`s about 3 hours work to fix the jam in the passenger door and re set it all. They will start work on Monday (not too early i`m sure) so should be able to collect it same day. It will end up being an even more costly w/e!

( btw - the dealer in Monaco said they were too busy dealing with engine problems on customer cars to do a locking problem ...i wonder what good is an engine if you can`t get into the car?)

Adnaan - i almost did call Karl, he has been a great help on previous problems.
