    Hey Gang,

My 360 Spider locked me out! Niether door would open when locking or unclocking using the fob (or key). After using the key on the passenger door, and timing it perfectly, I got that door to open. The drivers door wont open from outside or inside of the car, at all, no matter what I do. When I press the Fob, the locks "click and cycle" about 5 times before they just stop the cylcle, and the door (drivers) wont unlock in any event.

I was smart enough to put the top down before attempting any more diag since I had the passengers door open, as I am at work with the car and need to climb back in to get home!

So, what is going on here? Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions!

    Jim

Could you kill the batt (using the batt kill switch) for 1/2hr and turn it back on to see if this fixes the issue?

I had the same thing this week, it appears the cable on the drivers door became stretched and wouldnt release. Remove the door card and adjust the cable, the remote will then not sense that the door is at full resistance and release this then sends a trigger to the passenger door which unlocks that.

Hope you get it sorted, its the most infuriating problem.

Thanks for the replies. In true exotic car fashion, the problem fixed itself when I was done at work and got back in the car to drive home. Arrrrrrrr!

I had a similar problem with my door locks cycling to the locked position.

When I pushed the unlock button on the FOB it would momentarily unlock & then immediately lock again.

Turned out to be the passenger door latch assy (has the lock/unlock solenoid built in) was bad.

The new lock assy, as spec'ed on the 430 has no passenger side door key lock. So now my passenger door key lock is for decoration only.

I also adjusted the driver's side exterior door handle cable during the troubleshooting. So this might be a common problem with older 360's

It will most likely come back. My 456M did the same thing - it actually became high comedy trying to get in AND out of the car - and it turned out to be that the rods set to sense the locked/unlocked status went out of adjustment. So, the sensors couldn't figure out which was which, and they would start cycling back and forth until some override or other kicked in. Then it would stop for a while, and then it would happen again.

Fortunately, good Ferrari mechanics will have encountered this previously, and it's a simple fix.

    Cheers,

    George
