For those really fanatical about using the perfet hardward---

Anybody find a place that sells orignal Ferrari style split 8mm lockwashers used on exhaust, brake discs, brake backplates etc? The have a split, and have a "potato chip" type of wave to them. I tried Global Metric, and they have some that are made in Germany, look perfect, but are 7mm - Yuck!

    Thanks

I know my local "Nut & Bolt" supplier has these and I've used them for just that purpose too. I'm fortunate to have a place local to me though so I can just tip on down with a sample of what I'm trying to replicate. They've never let me down.

McMaster Carr is a great source for fasteners, might be worth checking with them.

I bought a bag of 100 from them years ago. It cost $5 or $6.

I usually have luck with obscure metric hardware here, then I send it in bulk to the aerospace platers and have it cadmium plated.
