    Hey guys,

    Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach 5th annual Mothers Wax exotic car paddock.

    I just talked with Jonathan from Mothers and bought my package, he suggested that I put the word out for the event. I have done this every year since the first, and it just gets better every time. A great way to do race day at the LBGP !! There is talk of a CHP (paint and lights etc.) full race Mustang leading the drive in to the race from the meet area, should be awesome. Anyone who has done this event knows about the other fun stuff race morning as well :D

    I suggest you get in early if you want to join in, it helps with getting your packet in time and makes event logistics better on race day, FYI.

    I bought my package too last week. Unfortunately the 05' Spider I put a deposit on last week, wasn't as clean as I hoped for, and had to cancel the purchase...so not sure what I will be driving that day...well they throw me out for driving my G35 2 door coupe w/ sports pkg?

    I've done several of there and had a great time. Don't worry about the G35, they'll let you in. If you win the lap though we can run it in my 430 :)

    I have been looking into a possible morning drive up to the LA group starting from OC / Long Beach as we have done in previous years. I see some activity on 6speed, etc. but I have no contact as in previous years with Victor or Elliot.

    I'll be at the races but will not have a car in the paddock. My residence for the weekend will the sailboat that is behind me in my profile photo. A former Formula 1 driver will be staying there too. If any F-chatters are around Saturday afternoon/eve feel free to stop by for a cold drink or a glass of wine! We're in slip F1 (how appropriate ;) )

    I just spoke with Jonathon at Mothers and he said the raffle is not for 1 car to do a parade lap, but 50 of our cars will get to go!

    Pretty cool!

    How does the raffle work? I have a bunch of things in my packet but nothing says specifically it is a "raffle" ticket.

    Maybe by ticket stub or grandstand seat # ? I need to talk to Jonathan on another matter, I'll ask him. The other little tickets in the packet are for drinks (4) and buffet lunch (2).
    The event flyer just states "exclusive parade lap raffle!" Maybe there is a charity thing involved and we need to buy raffle tickets at the race, either way, I'm in.

    Drink tickets? As in cocktails, beer/wine or just sodas? Jonathan confirmed cigars were ok, if I also brought him one (LOL).

    Tecate' (an interesting beer like substitute) is a big event sponsor. There are also other "real" beers in limited areas, wine, wine margaritas etc. I think Patron tequila is an event sponsor as well but I think that is avail only in a specific confined pavillion space.

    I will toss a couple Montecristos or Partagas in the door pocket as well, good call.

    Edward,

    There is a large organized drive from Calabassas down to Long Beach (8am), then a another drive /parade procession from the LB meet location down to the race grounds and event paddock (9am).

    In previous years there have been very early morning drives and meets from San Diego and IE, and a loosely organized run up to meet the LA guys from an OC location.

    We should all stay in touch by PM or Email RE that. times, meet locations.....

    That is what he told me on the phone and since I registered 5 cars he said there is a chance we will have more than one will be on track. He said he will contact by phone to let me know. I had the impression that he will do the drawing prior to the event.
