Can anybody give a long term driving report (more than 15,000/20,000 miles)
I have heard the car is great but how is it to live day to day with it?
    Any mayor issues?
Anything you would change? Or recommend for a prospective buyer ?
    Maintanence ? Expenses ?

    Thank you

I am with my second FF. Drove more than 25000kms.
I sold 458 spider for FF if that answers your question.
    Just buy it already :)

If you've owned a 612 before, then it's a very easy move across in terms of handling the size of the car.

I live in central London so find the stop/start system is pretty useful in traffic. The petrol tank is smaller than the 612, so you might fill up more often. Usage seems on par with the 612 otherwise, so expect V12 sized fuel bills.

The car is solid in terms of build. It's very comfortable and practical day to day. The engine and exhaust note are magnificient. Usual f-car caveats of taking time to pamper the interior leather and exterior bodywork apply. It's also more of a head-turner, so expect extra attention!

    Minor niggles:
    - the seatbelt handover mechanism is easy to confuse
    - satnav system sometimes takes a while to pinpoint where you are

Given the warranty and free servicing pack, actual maintenance prices should be low.

there are a quite a few folks here who have 20-30-40K miles on theirs; from what I've heard so far the cars are rock solid.

Ours in a 2013 and we have 6K miles, it's a "frequent but not daily" driver. Car has been flawless - and awesome. Very impressed with build quality and reliability.

There is an article in Forza magazine this issue on "FF Road Warriors" who use the car - dare i saw - as a car. Great article though I am biased.

Just a heads up that has nothing to do with long term reliability. FFs do not come with an emergency GPS based "SOS" button for calling roadside assistance. Every Benz, BMW, Audi, or Caddie comes with it. I told the dealer that to tell Ferrari that if they are serious about marketing a cross-country car, they need to get with it.

We cross deserts where in some places there is no cell phone service, so it is a concern. I ordered the car anyway.

all those systems (eg. OnStar, BMW SOS, etc etc) are all cellular based - so if you are that far out in the boonies, you are (in fact) out of touch.

The GPS receives signals from the satellite (unless you are in a tunnel or downtown San Francisco) so you'll know where you are, just can't tell anybody...

If you really want to have a link, you'll need to consider a Satphone or a personal EPIRB (emergency beacon), both of which do transmit to satellites.

(Having said that, I do think Ferrari should incorporate these systems, challenge is they are very country-specific for a relatively small manufacturer. I'd personally also like a HUD, though some like/dislike).

29,000+ miles since last October, just less than a year and the car is perfect. It gets as much attention as my red California. It is comfortable as a daily driver with much more seat room than the Cali, besides having real back seats. 11 mpg around town but who cares. I drive mine fairly hard. It has been perfect. Only one trip to the dealer other than oil changes which I have had two and damaged wheels from STUPID Michigan potholes.

The engine warms up very quickly making it easy to drive to work every day. It is perfect in the snow if you have snow, with SottoZero's.

    Just no issues.

Thanks... for the education. The sat phone is not a bad idea. We literally cross the country including some real boonies. Even renting one would be a comfort.

I have taken the plunge and ordered one based on all accounts that testify to the car's reliability. I have driven two for a total of about 200 miles; it is an amazing vehicle... in some ways more amazing than the smaller sport cars.

If you order a new one can you expect any discounts ?

Thanks for all responses. I am convinced that the car would work great in daily driving
Trying to decide new or used, would prefer not typical color ( black, white, grey etc) so may have to order it due to color

If anybody ordered one , how long is the wait ? 6 months?

Don't expect a discount on a new order.

On timing it depends on whether you can get in on an existing dealer allocation that no one has bought. Then add three months or so to the known build date (depending somewhat on where you are).

Be careful on color if you are sensitive to trade value. Some of the offerings may be hard to peddle, and frankly some just don't look good. But by all means exercise your preference. It's a lot of money and you should get what you want.

Our allocation came available in mid September, and we took delivery in mid December. You could get it about a month sooner with air frieght delivery at an added cost.

And I can't add much to what has been said about long term use and reliability except to say "what they said" (Entropy, Rick and Stickbrietling). Our experience has been pretty much as they report.
