What's the longest distance you've driven in your 348/355? How "comfortable" was it?

Was thinking about going on a 300 mile drive in one direction, then 300 miles back 3 days later. The roads are relatively nice on this drive but may be old concrete in some areas (lots of road noise).

Just did 400+ in each direction last 4 day weekend. Seats are fine.

    Car was bulletproof.

Toughest part is your right ankle because of no cruise control. :)

Did 1200 miles one way over a few days 2 years ago. Bulletproof. Comfortable in the F355.

    Averaged 20.8 mpg...

Did you get a car Nindia? Sorry if I missed your unveiling. Saw your wtb challenge grille ad.
If the car is good mechanically, 300 miles is a short jaunt. I've done 600+ spirited miles in one day in my car.

Did a couple of trips in the 348 - longest was 1200 miles in two days.

Did a few more in the 355 - longest was about 3500 miles with one of those days being about 900 miles.

All those trips I tried to stay off the highway as much as possible. It was lots of fun, there are lots of great roads that are essentially empty most of the time in the western US. And you meet some interesting people on the way. Once broke down in the middle of nowhere Utah (alternator). Fixed it and continued on, picked up the alternator in Salt Lake with the help of the local garage tech. It was an adventure I'll never forget.

I found the driving position to be great in both cars. Only missed cruise control on the main highways but it's pretty easy to cam your foot in and relax.

If you want really comfortable -- 550. Did about 12,000 miles of road trips in a 550, that car just eats miles, easy on the ears, fun when you want it. Still missing cruise control, but more room for the legs.

Robb, that's amazing! It's great to learn that so many owners drive their 355s regurlarly! I miss it badly. Currently undergoing exhaust manifold refurbishment. :(

    Kind regards,

    Nuno.

2300 miles oneway in the 348, avg 26mpg. Seats are horrible after 90 minutes. Had to drive barefoot with a pillow for lumbar comfort. Stopped at the carwash before heading to the garage to pressure wash all the bugs off. Do it again? Hell yeah!

300 miles should be no problem in anything. Will be nothing in a 355. I've done longer days on my 86 Honda dirt bike :)

I did 1000 miles over two days and have driven it 450+ in a single day multiple times. If your suspension is in good shape and you have reasonably compliant tires, it should be a pleasant trip.

Pretty much all my trips in the 348 and 355 are over 300 miles. I'm not sure the longest in one sitting though. The 348 tires me out faster on the long trips and starts getting uncomfortable, but I've got some bad back problems so that adds to it.

Probably around 1000 miles or so, driving from DC to FL a dozen times. Also did DC to Lime Rock, DC to NYC and Charlotte a bunch of times, among many other road trips.. Pretty comfy car overall, especially in F1 form since you can actually stretch your legs out behind the pedals. Recommend upgrading the sound system though since that really cool exhaust noise everyone loves gets slightly annoying after a few hours.

The only real issue I have with driving the car long distances is noise. Tubi, test pipes, leaky windows, etc, all kinda get old after an hour or so of highway driving.

Right there with ya! Wish I had a nickel for every time someone created a thread to announce that they drove 200 miles in one weekend without any breakdowns, as if it were some great accomplishment :D

I think this was more about comfort than whether the car made it or not.

Yes, that was why I was asking.

    Road noise, suspension, etc.

At what point, if any, does it become unbearable. :p
