I don't think you have to worry, it's a comfortable car. Biggest issue for me is where to put my left foot on long highway runs. Otherwise the seats are comfortable and the ride is smooth.
I've done 3,000 miles in a 2-week trip. The first two days it rained 2 inches per hour for 14 hours of the drive. I was on slicks at the time (street tires with less than 1/16 inch of tread.)
Most of you guys are either old or *****s! Not comfy after a couple hours eeesssh! I Am 6ft tall 220lbs. The car was made for a little Italian guy, 5'6 130lbs, like my dad lol. How do you think I felt lol My friend had to almost beg to get behind the wheel!
200mi. Being 6' 2" tall I cannot drive the 348 longer than 4 hours before the knees/legs just start to give in and need more room. This is why I kept the Porsche to drive for long periods with knees /legs able to be fully straight or bent while driving. Have thought about upgrading seats in the 348 at some point.
400 miles +/- L.A. to NorCal on I5 bringing Baby to its new home. Car was very comfortable; the only problem when you are trying to maintain a steady 1 mph under what you think you can get away with, it's tough w.o. cruise control. However, I found that the engine note changed enough that I could detect 1-2 mph speed changes.
Just drove a round trip of some 1000 miles to the Australian GP as per the following thread (and got a few laps of the circuit in the GTC as well!!!! ) http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/480239-more-348-handling.html Car ran like a bird (not sure where that saying comes from, makes sense in Australia if we are talking about an Emu, but not too many other places I think....road runner and Ostrich maybe) and other than a tired leg from a combination of the GTC's F40 seat digging into my hip and the angle of my foot on the accelerator because no cruise control.....it was great!!!
520 miles in one shot...flew out to Ohio, bought my F 355 and drove her home in the best and worst drive of my life! All was well and the weather was fine until the sun went down and then I spent four and a half hours driving through the worst fog I have ever seen in my life in my brand new Ferrari. I had never driven a Ferrari before and I could barely see 30 feet in front of me. .. and I knew I still had many many miles to go. It took me about 11 hours to do the drive. I recall being exhilarated and quite nervous the entire time whereas I was absolutely exhausted by the time I got home. I think I slept 12 hours the next day. I woke up 5 or 6 hours after I went to sleep just to walk out to the garage and look at it. Went and slept again...woke up and put another 50 miles or so on her the next day. Dropped it off at ferrari 5 days later and had the engine pulled for a much needed major service
700kms, top down, nouvalari supersport + fabspeed cat bypass pipes, had to pop ear plugs in just a short while into the trip, after that all was well
260 miles through all the twisty north Georgia roads in one day and back. Then again I just got the car so the night is young
600-800 Miles round trip. Boston to Phily. Car was great. Gas mileage was about 20mpg+. The aero really helps. Spider top(up) tends to woosh around 70 but otherwise just fine.
To my repair shop and back, very comfortable. JUST KIDDING. From L.A. to Phoenix, L.A to Monterey no problem, used a small little pillow for enhanced lower back support. spyder, fabspeed and tubi.
708 miles non stop (except for gas) the first day I purchased the 348 Speciale with carbon seats. Finished the paperwork, got in Gaithersberg maryland and drove to chicago....GREAT FUN! Tubis, open roof and cruising!
1075 miles non stop. Left Maranello, Italy at 8 am and arrived home in southern England at Midnight. Stopped for two great meals and the ferry across the English Channel. The whole trip on European Motorways so kept the speedo on 100 mph most of the way, slowing for French speed cameras! Absolutely wiped out by the time we got home though. Can't wait to do it again. 348 was great.
