    Forgive my ignorance here, please...

What is the reality of buying a new 488 (in California)?

Do I just put my name on a list and wait, maybe forever?

Am I limited to a dealer within 100 miles of my home?

And do I have to own a used Ferrari to even get on a list for a new one?

If buying new proves too difficult right now, and I opted to get a certified used Ferrari, how does that factor in when I come back for a new car? Do I need to buy it from a local dealer to build relationship points, or is it enough just to be a guy who bought a newish Ferrari?

All thoughts welcome. Just trying to understand how people do this in the real world....?

Dealers are only allocated a so many cars. They usually go to the their best customers. If you want to start ordering new cars from the factory then you have to establish a relationship with your local dealer usually by buying a few used cars from them and getting them serviced there. See where this is going?

This is not a hard and fast rule but seems to be the consensus here. I wouldn't know because I buy used ones.
