Not to piss in your cheerios about this, but...

If the job's that important to you, why not go and find them yourself? Part of the employment process includes doing some work to get a job. Not just posting a question on this board and hoping for replies that will solve the problem for you.

Hello!! Google?? Hmm.... Maybe that's a place to start?

Also, have you tried talking to Ferrari N.A., or even looking in one of the two or three major publications devoted to Ferrari? They have dealer directories, and lots of colorful ads in the back that are from Ferrari shops.

Now, go out and make your own list, make some calls and try to line up a couple of interviews. Then come back on here and ask us if we can help you get an actual interview with a dealer or a shop.

Or post a list of places you've found that you're interested in, ask our opinions and you'll get plenty of responses. Might even get some help with contact names from that.

This is the way of the new generation, DM. Forum searches and Google have replaced good interpersonal skills and resourcefulness. I (unfortunately) have a few on staff. Employers have to gamble now on finding the diamond-in-the-rough kid who doesn't want things handed to them. I long for the days when the only things that I had to worry about were Monday morning hangovers and weed.

To BabyFerrari, best hit the streets and start talking to people. You'd also better start working for a large-volume manufacturer (MB, Toyota, or Honda) to get your skills perfected. At least 2 years. No Independant or Dealer is going to hire anyone green anymore. The cars are too delicate, complex, and the turnaround expectations can only be handled by a mechanic that doesn't have to ask basic questions. FNA training is also amazingly expensive and no one will invest in you until you've proven yourself loyal and worthy.

Just a bit of garnish for them Cheerios.

I remember back in the day where I actually had to go to the Library of Congress to request the book that I needed for research. That was one of the things that I really enjoyed about taking internation studies at American U. I had physical access to the institutions that held the knowledge.

Now, you google and its done! No more face to face. You wouldn't have to leave your room to do all the research necessary in some cases. I don't know if that is progress or not.

Hell, just the screen savers would have kept me in the room for days on end.

    regards

    Ken

Heard that. I love the feeling of searching through publications until I find the correct information. Data Archaeology or something...

The web is full of a LOT of bullsh*t that "appears" to be accurate. Too many people out there that hope to see their misinformation regurgitated and misquoted by someone "reputable" who wanted a quick answer and didn't bother to verify. Case-in-point, how much of the inaccurate speculations on this site get spread around by the guy who didn't read far enough into the thread to get to the real answer?

    ok.. **Rant**

Did you ever get the list? Can you post it or would that be too much work?)

Did you try talking to some of the exp. FC Mechanic on this site to see what it takes to become one? May will be here before you know it.
