Any thoughts on this car chaps? http://cgi.ebay.ca/Ferrari-355_W0QQitemZ170420889998QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item27ade0698e Looks sweet, but he is blabbing on about reducing unsprung weight in seats (no pics) and wheels/brakes yet has fitted huge wheels/tires/BBK on the car... and i dont care how you slice it, wieght goes up from 18" -> 20" with fatter tires...plus those wheels look and awful lot like SSR's which are spun cast... not forged. Would love some feedback as I am thinking about picking up a red 355 spider over the next 6 months. I am a noob at ferraris so rip me apart and set me straight if need be please.
The ad sounds like a desperate used car salesman. $89K?? Are you kidding me? Only 2900 Spiders made? Really, like to know where he got that info.... I would move along, quickly from this car----Sounds like a seller that will telll you exactly what YOU want to hear to sell it...
The ad is actually funny if you read it in your best Anthony Sullivan "Sully" voice. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I would always be a bit skeptical when looking at cars that have been modified. Cars like this are actually worth less. Yes those wheels look good BUT most people want to have the factory wheels. 8k+ for a factory set of wheels compared to about 4k for a set of nice aftermarket wheels.
Hmmm...not a single picture of those fabulous Daytona style seats, and basically a whole lot of the same exterior shot. Not the best presentation for 90K. It looks nice, though.
Well done modifications but they are just that...modifications. Deduct the price of the mods from the sale price of a 355 and you get the market value. Back of the envelope guess..$60k - $15k (mods)= $45k. All the usual 355 minefields still exist: valves headers top mechanisms shocks cats ecu A modified 355 will be worth less and harder to sell than a stock one.
