Hello all. Long time lurker. I finally have a good reason to post. I am looking at a 1999 360 at Ferrari of Scottsdale and wondered if anyone had any first hand knowledge of the car. The VIN #: ZFFYR51A0X0118610. Any information would really help me in making my decision if this is the car for me.

Steven Kessler had it for sale in December, 2002, in North Miami, FL. Red with tan interior, power Daytona seats, shields, books, records, tools, 4,581 miles. They still had it for sale in January, 2003.

In August, 2003, it was for sale at Silicon Valley Auto Group of Los Gatos, CA. Rosso Corsa with tan interior, 4,700 miles.

Joe Monetti of Agoura Hills, CA, had it for sale in March, 2004 - advertised as Barchetta red with tan interior, 9,434 miles, 30K service done. He still had it for sale in January, 2005, with Keith Collins floor mats, new clutch with upgraded software, and 7,500 miles (I don't get the discrepancy, perhaps it was just a typo). In January, 2006, he was still selling it.

In February, 2007, it was sold through Driver Source of Houston, with 12,089 miles. Three months later it was at DC Motors in Anaheim Hills, 12,759 miles - and still there in December, 2007, with the same mileage.

I know nothing about the car, but I have a soft spot a mile wide for the interior color choices... Dang that looks good.

This is good advice. Make sure you get a PPI as well.

I would never buy from Scottsdale Ferrari, EVER!. With that damaged F430 with the race seats they were trying to spin off as a "clean no stories clean carfax yada yada" example when in fact it was badly damaged, Id rather do business elsewhere. Tread with caution my friend!

OP - I don't know anything about the car. Carbon's post is a good start and a PPI is a good finish. There are two indy's here in PHX that can do the PPI.

Re the dealership, ask for Chris in sales. He has been a great resource to me and I trust him.

I would look for someone else than Andy to do the PPI. He is supposed to be great but he missed a lot on my car.

To be completely fair, he did not do a PPI on my 360 for me, but he did it for a potential buyer before me a week earlier and missed a lot.

Can you give a few examples of what was missed? Only because I'm curious as to how deep into a PPI Andy is willing to go. He did a PPI for me and it seemed incredibly thorough. He found stuff that made me turn down the purchase. He seemed to be the most honest mechanic I've ever dealt with. He had done some work previously on the car that I had him do the PPI on and gave me his honest opinion about the way the car had been driven and how the owner reacted to the work that needed to be done. You could tell he was working for his reputation and not for the buyer OR seller.

Knowing Andy well and as he has serviced both of my Ferraris for over 6 years, I very highly doubt this. He may not be nitpicky with cars but there is no one I would trust more.
