    Hi Guys,

I currently have a 360 Spider and I have been thinking of trying the Bull for a few months now. I was kinda looking at Murci's and then I had the opportunity arise over the weekend to buy a 2001 Diablo 6.0 in Rosso Andramada over Snowcorn interior (Red/light tan).

It is a one owner car with 2281 miles and is having a top to bottom service as I type at a lambo dealer who sold it new.

The price on the car is $199K and I am told it is perfect and has been owned by a long time customer of the dealer since new. I asked about the shocks and were told they checked out perfect as did the clutch and the compression test on the engine.

I have never owned a Lambo but I always loved them and I am ready for a new flavor I think. I also like the fact the 6.0 market seems to be holding steady.

    Questions for you guys:

    1. Coming from a 360 Spider and being 6'4" will I fit okay in the Lambo? (I fit fine in my Ferrari)?

    2. Pros and Cons of the last generation Diablo?

    3. Is their any options sans wing that I should be aware of on a 2001 car?

    4. Opinions of handling and power versus my 02 360 Spider?

    5. Do you guys recommend a PPI if buying the car from a trusted Ferrari/Lambo/Maserati dealer? I am leaning towards yes but thought I would ask here.

I love my Ferrari but it was my entry level car and I know I want a Diablo in my long term collection and this one seems to be a very nice one that would be a keeper. Any thoughts, expereinces or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Brad

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS get a PPI!!! Can not stress it enough. Also get it done at a different dealer that the dealer you are purchasing from. I know it seems like common sense but you would be surprised the amount of people that get the PPI done at the same dealer they are buying from.

    Hey Guys,

Do any of you have a good contact for a PPI in Northern Virginia for a Lambo? Car is at Ferrari of Washington and I want an independant third party to look it over. Any recommendations are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brad

    Brad,

There is an independent shop in the area. I will look it up for you. When I bought my Orange 6.0 (in the same vicinity as yours), I did the reverse. My 6.0 was being serviced by this independent shop and I shipped my 6.0 to Lambo of DC for PPI.....

PS: Fwiw, Glenn and Wil Mack are top quality people there at Lambo of Wash.

Be sure and drive the car as I'm 6'1" (long legs) at about 190lbs and the 6.0 Diablo is too tight for me (for prolonged driving that is); in fact, my Murcie is a bit tight as well (I'd love another two inches of leg room).

Good luck and one thing is for sure, once you go Lambo you'll never go back :)

By the way, I absolutely love the color combo on the 6.0. you're looking at.

Thanks for the point of view, funnily I have heard the same thing the other way regarding the 6.0 Diablo over the Murci. Personally I like the lines of the Diablo better than the Murci and the interior of the 6.0 better than the Murci although I believe the Murci is very cool and FAST!

I like the fact that the 6.0's are starting to get a bit collectable while I am seeing the Murci's drop (And the 360's for that matter).

I've never owned a Lambo so this is purely opinion, but I have seen and heard one with that color combo up close (I think the interior was white not tan, but very close). If the PPI checks out and if you can fit ok, I think you'll be very happy with it! Good luck

Thanks, I should know for sure in the next day or so. As far as fitting in the car I may have to take the drivers seat off of the rails and bolt it to the floor to gain an extra 2.75" inches which I am told is common and reversable.

If the TOY POLICE came to my door tomorrow and said...OK ROY...you can ONLY keep one LAMBO ....which one is it??

Bye Bye Lp 640, Murcie, Gallardo, 97 Roadster, Countach.......

But lay me to rest for ever in my 6.0!! Last car to ever leave me... IMO

The early model Murcies are holding their own in resale if you keep the miles down (IMO one of the best buys on the market at this point in time). It's a driver’s car for sure and extremely reliable.

On the other hand, you gotta love the 6.0 Diablo, and it'll hold value nicely if you keep the miles down and treat it well.

Really comes down to personal preference and how much you plan to drive the car.

Hey Roy, why don't you tell us something we don't already know :)

Give up an LP640 for a Diablo, me thinks you're crazy :D

I also opted for a 6.0 over a Murcie. I recommend Wil de Groot for the PPI. He is in Frenchtown NJ, which is going to mean travel time, but frankly, I know of no better guy when it comes to Lambos; I doubt anyone here could say otherwise.
I am happy to fill you in on my ownership experience as well. Let me know if you want my contact info.

(mine is rosso vik over snowcorn, with carbon wing, bought as a queen with almost no miles- i've put close to 10k miles on the car in about 2 years of NE seasonal recreation driving).

I have no hesitation in saying my 6.0 SE is WAY more comfort than my
    LP 640...

GRANTED the 6.0 SE has differnt seats, different stitching AND electric adjust seats that the regular 6.0 does not have...AND with its different gearing and a few other SE options it is different than the standard 6.0...AND it DOES stay right with my LP640....not in the first 1/8 mile, but after that not a problem pretty darn close...almost non noticeable...

SO, yes I will give my LP640, and easily replaceable car, up ANY DAY of the week for my non replaceable 6.0 SE...

PS loved the first one so much, bought another SE in Gold in case #19 one day wears out....hope not....

Yep, I was going to ask which 6.0 SE were you going to be buried in or were you going to do a Houdini.
