I'm looking at a 95 348 Spider. I see what asking prices are, but does anyone have a read on selling prices, no issues with 30k miles. Red/tan w/tan top.

Also, any ballpark on what a 30k is going for these days from independent and Ferrari?

    Thanks guys!

    Ken,

Tan top, are you sure? Ferrari did not produce tan tops on the 348's, only black. If so, I 'd like to see a pic, it would look different.
95's have been selling in the mid to high $50's with 30K miles and serviced.
A full 30K service with belt at FOA would run about $6K or $4.5K with guys like Evan Ross, etc. Clutch not included.
    Welcome to the Spider world.

Stephane, you are probably right about the top. It is a tan boot, but black top. Deal still pending, but looks promising. I'll keep posted.

Excellent, hope you close the deal. The Spider is a big change from the early TS, you will love it. Put a Tubi on it.

Ken, Stephane is right about the Tubi. I bought his 1990 348 TS and the car sounds incredible with a Tubi and Hyperflow cats!

I just bought a 1995 spider red tan for 60k with 28k miles in the SF bay area. I'm looking to a tubi as well as hyperflows. I need to get the car serviced too.

Stuck, I have a '90 TS with Tubi. Are you getting a significant performance performance increase with the HF cats?

Ksullender, I don't mean to hijack your thread. The Spyder is a great car! I would love to have one! Good luck with your deal. You might take a look at this ebay listing - so cal car - appears clean, 27K miles, 30K service done a year ago. Current bid is $52K, and the reserve is met...

Sold, winning bid $52,000 with only 1 bid. Seems a bit odd?

I have a verbal commitment with a small deposit on one. Not the ebay one listed above. I'm going to look at the car next week. If all is good then it will be a done deal.

Congrats, dude, I hope it works out. The tan tonneau looks a bit odd to me, so u might reconsider a black one. They can be made for about $700-$900.

The Tubis are really loud in the Spider from the passenger's compartment. You will notice the noise if u change. It's a pleasant noise - for about 30 minutes, then u get numb. Taking a long drive in the car, top up or down, can get grueling with that constant droning. You have far less sound insulation in the Spider due to the top. You might consider a product with a quieter exhaust note. I favor the Fuchs for this reason. Having followed a Tubi Spider for a long time and an extended drive, I can tell you I looked forward to passing him so I did not have to listen any longer to that screeching. But to each his own.

My 348 had a tubi and I really loved it. Not sure how I will feel with a spider. I'm looking to finalize everything next Friday if there are no issues. Stephane - don't you have a good recommendation on a mechanic in Atlanta?

Yes, call Evan Ross in Duluth. He actually specializes in the 348's, and he will tell you the 348 spider is the best V8 ever made. Great guy with incredible skills, let me know if you want his phone#.

IIRC, they switched from the black boot to the tan boot at the same time they decided to paint the entire engine cover body color (prior cars had the black panel between the back window and the vented part of the cover.

I have a black cover but i like the tan too so if you want to trade, let me know. You can save your $700-$900.
