    I have an XT and haven't had any issues with it. The two are similar except a few things like rear monitor size and megapixels. I like the layout of the buttons and it feels natural (the Nikons have too many buttons imo).

    I think the body is rated at 50,000 exposures so the one you may be interested in is already near the end of its life. I can easily shoot 1000 pics in a weekend no problems (buy a second battery for sure). The best bet would be to buy a new DSLR...my friend got a T1i off of SlickDeals through Amazon with a 55-250mm lens for like $700 including a $300 printer.

    The "kit lens" (18-55mm) is the cheapest lens made by canon, but it's good enough to do the job.
