My 2015 S550 is the same. Overwhelming. So much so that I could kill myself trying to adjust the HVAC while driving. Way more technology than I'll ever use. hell, it can park itself if I want it to. Unbelievable.

Well back to the drawing board. Someone bought the Rapide I was looking at yesterday! Time to keep looking.

Bought a 2014 Rapide S and took delivery yesterday. Truly a beautiful sedan. A nice exhaust note too. Need to get some seat time though to get a better feel for it.

Rapide is flawed, the drive chain through the middle of the car makes a compromise a necessity. I was at Newport Pagnell this morning and they had the new Lagonda there. If you don't mind the fact it is very, very long, it is certainly a very different thing. (albeit much more expensive)

I have used my free upload capacity so pics here: Cars: We All Fall in Love With Our Models: Return of the Lagonda

Hmm. Not too sure about the new Lagonda. It does have some type of Chrysler thing going on in the front end.

Good thread. I'm about to sell my highly modded 997TT and will get a Rapide. I have an E350 Bluetec and GX460 as my other two cars. The 997TT is way too much car for the street and is out of warranty. I may get an Alfa 4c or Viper to go with the Rapide.

That way I have the coolest psuedo sedan in Rapide and a very cool new, minimalist mini exotic as my toy. 14mpg in Rapide, 30mpg in 4C LOL. Also the Rapide and 4C = the same $180k I was going to spend on a single nearly new 13-14 Gallardo.

Oh and regarding the Rapide - it drives better than just about any car I've driven and I've driven/owned a lot. The ride in comfort is plush nearly S Class absorption yet the steering feel is better than my Porsche. The car feels milled from a single block. Zero steering column shake/shudder over ugly bumps or railroad tracks, the exhaust note trumps most every car on road sportscar or not and when you press sport it really comes alive and has next to zero body role. What an all-around car for enthusiasts to drive when they need a backseat. We're expecting our first ;-)

From a depreciation perspective I take it over S Class and 7 series. Look at it this way... Let's say Aston is 2x price of S550 or 750. Well S and 7 WILL eventually be $7k - just look at 2000's 7 series and S class. Now find me a $14k Aston of ANY kind. Plus when Rapide gets really old I believe it will hold hits value even better than DB9 for its exclusivity and content. When you are buying an old 2 door you are buying it more to impress and be your toy - hence less tolerance for an "old" coupe.
