hi.. im in Montreal.. looking for used aftermarket exhaust for a 1997 355GTB... if anyone has, or knows someone within Canada.. it would be greatly appreciated to let me know.. send me pm please.. or email [email protected]
just a word of advice.....what are you looking to achieve...higher pitch, .....etc....there are many options and budgets.....Capristo, Tubi, Xhost, etc....also, when u change your muffler, your by pass valve might start ratteling (happened to me) as they have different than oem configuration and pressures are different. higher pitch (Old) F1 style = capristo level III
hi.. much appreciate the feedback.. good points.. I didnt realize could affect the BPV. I recently just picked up a 1997 GTB 19,000miles.. and the exhaust is all stock.. the headers are good for the moment and cats are brand new.. but the stock exhaust is finished.. so im looking for a quick/within reason, replacement to get the stock exhaust off of there.. I already have a very good quote intalled for a new Capristo at my indie Ferrari shop.. although this a good price for a capristo, Id still rather spend that cash on other things that need attention.. so I dont mind buying a good shape used unit.. Capristo, Tubi, Nouvalari...etc.. if there is a used Exhaust available I will condider it. in terms of sound.. anything would be better then stock muffler..
the most economical solution is buying another OEM muffler used from eBay....seen them for 500 or 750.... Anything else, will cost you between 3 to 5 K......have not seen any good aftermarket lower than this. if you plan on keeping the car and investing in such, then get the capristo you will not be disappointed. many info on youtube comparing sounds etc......plus many local owners too.
ive seen several 355 mufflers in the main page parts thread for under 2k. tubi, Nouvalari etc. 5k for used exhaust is no sense. I can get out of the box capristo installed at my shop for less then that ! again if can find used in the 2k and under i still prefer that.
have you thought about taking it to an exhaust shop/race shop and having a custom stainless steel one made? Have one made like the challange exhaust.
