Hey fellas. I'm looking for a 550 I'm thinking 1999-2000 US model or thereabouts for my twin brother. Yep, I think this is the right F-car for his first. I've got the 8 covered, let him get the 12.

If you can point me to a good'n, I'd appreciate it. Equally, I'd like to deal w/ a respected owner/sponser w/in the community.

    Thanks for any leads.

Autosport USA has two great ones. The Yellow one is very pretty and is a STEAL of a deal. If you have any interest in a car from them, shoot me a PM and I'll tell you about them. Autosport is a very good place to do business.

Yes, it is, which a good thing unless the car is under warranty (which it's not).

Looked into that one. Car is ready for its third set of tires I understand and had a couple of issues. Makes me a little nervous about previous owners habits. Just want to make sure 1st car for my brother is a clean no stories as he has no knowledge of the Ferrari love/hate realtionship. muuhahaha! - Don't you feel the love, brother!

I agree, yellow is not the colour for a 550, it doesn't suit the car's image. That black/tan one on the other hand.... gorgeous. Purely my opinion, of course, to each his own.

Do not forget Euro 550's are quicker than 2000+ U.S. Spec 550's.

It's funny how people always think the 550's are big, but they really aren't! I think the perception comes from the size of the hood. Overall, the car is very small.

They're perfect. But yellow really is "trying too hard" for what is really a grand tourer. It also looks a bit off in red - not ugly, just not quite right.

Titanium, black, grigio - all stunning, IMO. In fact, it rivals the 355 as the last beautiful Ferrari.

Gary Bobileff (www.bobileff.com) has two here in San Diego - very nice cars, probably on consignment. I will be over there the week after next if you want me to look at anything in particular or ask questions.

I agree, yellow is probably not the best color, but I don't hate it. Red CAN be on any Ferrari, even though some do look better than others in it. One thing for sure is that 550's are amazing cars and one cannot go wrong buying a good one.

Well after working my brother over - he has decided to go w/ a.....ok everyone settle down an Aston Martin Vanquish. I don't know what he is thinking. I told him he'll be summarily banished from the family, he'll lose honor in the halls of our father's father and shall stand before the Car Gods and be asked to be saved and explain the conclusive attitude he has that Aston is a more elegant, subdued, conservative ride than that of the 550. Hmmmmm, maybe he is right. He does need the 2+2 room. Screw him - I'll jerk off his whole muffler system and open up the cats and make the Aston bear it soul if need be.

In any sense thanks guys for the leads you fellas gave to me.

    Love this community.
