Ferrari 308 Gtsi | eBay Hey spotted this on eBay! Description says its a great toy to add to any collection! Based on that description I am really tempted to pull the trigger! Should I get a PPI or just roll the dice. Seems too good to be true. Please help, what should I do?
The pictures and description are spartan at best, that plus the seller has zero feedback, I would not be comfortable at all. If you were to proceed, I would try to get a feel for the seller and definitely go with a PPI and get it checked out. Happy hunting!
I say go for it. What's the worst that could happen? Could you negotiate some spinners as part of the package?
What's not to like! It's eBay, the ad is very informative, and how can you not trust a seller with a name like " Andre guilty". It's only $30,000 and if things go badly it's not like it will take you 10 years to dig out of the hole,.. more like 4.
Here's the bonus: 5th gear will be perfect like new. Apparently Andre doesn't know it's a 5 speed. Ciao!
Andre looks like a really nice guy. Ya know what they say: if it looks too good to be true it's probably a REALLY good deal. A guy that sits on the hood of his Ferrari to pose for a poster with the heading White Lady N-A- Cadillac is probably a stickler for maintenance. Can't vouch for this car but my gut says it's a good one..
Add "new front deck lid" to the list of parts it will need. I can't imagine that thing holding any human. Can't be good for it.
In all seriousness, why don't you check out the 308 owned by lostbowl? It's a year newer, and IIRC he's looking for $32,000. It has been properly maintained, with records, owned by a member here, and is absolutely gorgeous!
This is sound advice. NEVER buy a Ferrari with out at least looking at it and a compression test. Exception is if you have enough funds that it doesn't matter. PPI is highly advisable but if you are mechanically inclined you will be ok especially if you have driven a few. Also remember even a serviced Ferrari is only as good as the mechanic that did the work.
