I'm looking for a clean 348 SS to add to my 360 CS. Anyone have one they'd consider selling? Thanks, RP
Yes, the Serie Speciale and Challenge are different. Mostly the same but not exactly. I'd consider a Challenge that was not raced.
You will be better off just limiting yourself to SS cars. 19 Challenge cars not raced, last time I looked.
Serie Speciale = regular production run road car. Cosmetic and power upgrades Challenge = race-ish mods while staying street legal, delivered as complete cars and also as conversion kits
If you can get an unraced factory challenge car with all of the challenge parts, that is the best of the road going 348 models in my opinion. They were made a little better at the factory to hold up for racing and have lots of sweet goodies hidden away in there. They're practically unicorns, though. Here is mine - took forever to convince an Fchatter to sell it to me but it's being well loved and I look forward to a lifetime of happiness with it. It's configured with the maximum of the challenge parts that I can while making it comfortable for the street use. It has race seats, harnesses, and roll hoop inside. I have the full cage but that's too much for road use. It's a spectacular car in every respect. I love it so much, I am thinking of adding a second one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's another. I have to do one at a time. This pic is from VettesRule76 on here. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Something is weird with that. The seller says it has the upgraded seats but it doesn't, it has the stock normal seats. He says it has an F40 chin spoiler (????) but it has the normal spoiler from what I can see. Lastly, it's in Canada but in one legible pic it has a California license plate. So there you go - a few red flags although they may be more about the seller than about the car itself.
The seller is a Tow company. He bought it from the previous owner in CA back in November for $29k. The front air dam was banged up as was the passenger door/quarter panel. The Tow company said they fixed the body damage less some rock chips. The interior seat is rough and it is the standard seat not the Speciale Carbon backed units made for skinny people. lol
Yes there seems to be something off with that seller. They have had several ferraris as of late for sale and some of the ebay bidding looks "odd" as well. Seller is very quick to respond to questions, but even though I was very interested in another car they were selling the confidence level is low for me
That car sealed the deal for me. Even a gentle drive convinced me that the 348 really is something special. That's a nice looking Alfa, Mark!!
Mark can reveal it in time as it's not my place. Regardless, it's very worthwhile automobile mission and I approve wholeheartedly.
