I'm looking for a radio (I have the Sony CD changer), in perfect condition, for my 1999 355 F1 Spider. I have an Alpine, flip sceen, system in there now but want to bring things back to original specs. You has one?

i have the factory stereo with cassette and cd changer control ( no cd changer though) in my 99 355 F1. i havent decided whether to switch the stereo yet or get the cd changer that the factory stereo controls. I dont even know which cd changer works with it! What alpine flip up do you have?

I'll have to check this evenning. I have to turn the the battery back on and get the screen to flip out to see the model number of the Alpine system. I have 2 10" woofers in the front that are comming out as well as a very good amp. The Alpine screen is not a touchscreen but gives every option (navigation, movie, cd, etc...). It's in very good condition, with no scratches or dents, and it lights up perfectly.
The factory CD changer is, I beleive, a Sony, because that's what I have in there now.
I need what you have! I'll be in touch this evenning!

Sorry for the delay! If you can give me your e-mail address I can send you pictures of the system I have. As well, I was mistaken when I stated that my CD changer was a Sony, It's Alpine. Sorry! looking forward to hear from you!

I have done a bit of a research on this topic, as I had the same problem when I bought my 1996 F355 Spyder, though she just had an awful Panasonic radio-cassette.
Here are the results of my findings re the F355 hi-fi system:

MY 94/95> no radio/cassette was originally fitted by the factory, though I have seen few cars with a radio/cd Sony.
MY 96/97/98 > originally fitted with the radio/cassette Sony XR-F20 and the CD changer CDX-F20 as optional.
MY 99 > should be fitted with a radio/cassette Becker, of which I do not recall the model. (pls see here attached a pic taken from 456M) A CD changer was of course available.

Finally, note that both the Sony and the Becker can drive external amps and subs.
