Im assuming you wanted a bbi (injected) bb were prior to bbi. Good relm is 80k - 120k. The more complete (books, tools, ect) the better. Check out http://512bbi.com lots of info on them.

The 512 will always stand up to me as one of the best-looking Ferraris ever built. Good luck with your search, and keep us posted.

Look at the smiles in your bio's photo. Those are the smiles of a young girl going open-air motoring with her dad. And a dad who didn't just pay $15K for an engine-out, 12-cylinder tune-up.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

Funny you mention this: We talked about the maintenance costs of a 12 cylinder vs a 308 in our tech session. Those additional 4 cylinders don't just add 50% of your existing maintenance, the increase in costs is exponential.

When I met Andrea Pininfarina last August he told me that the 365/512BB series has always been the favorite of the firm.

Since when does the practicality of said engine mean squat?!?!
We are talking about a classic 12 cylinder Ferrari Boxer....
Logic has no place in this discussion!

While I agree that the Boxer is an absolutely beautiful car, there are some arguments against it:

    - can be confused with a 308 by the man from the street (not my words, but FORZA's)
    - no fabulous racing heritage
    - not the classic 12 cylinder in the front
    - some practicality issues that only got addressed/resolved in the TR series

Any future owner should take a hard look at the maintenance and parts costs of these machines. FORZA had a pretty good buyers guide covering all this.

On a more emotional note: I think they're some of the most beautiful Ferraris and cars ever made and I love every angle of them. And they drive just phenomenally. Would I want to own one? Not until I hit the lottery jackpot.
