Call my friend, Frank Donatoni, at Brandywine Porsche 610 886 1000. He used to run Algar Ferrari, and knows what a right car is about. Use my name.

Check this place out www.rpmsportscars.com. He always has low mileage (very low) 993TT's. Maybe too low, actually. Some of the cars he gets are practically new, and he will ask all the money for them. Neat to check out, either way.

If you really want to have some fun, though, check out the used car inventory at www.rufautocentre.com. A CTR2 Sport makes a stock 993TT look pretty pedestrian.

I have friends at a few dealers that get that kind of merchandise on a regular basis. I'll keep my eye out for one.

    Good luck shopping.

The nice 993 cars have held their value. The 996 TT has really taken some hits.

Yes. While not in a financial position to own a RUF car, I do have them service my lowly Audi from time to time. I know Wayne and Hans pretty well. Feel free to drop my name if you are in contact with them. Very good guys to deal with, and amazing product.

    Tom,
I passed on a pristine Black/Burgundy one earlier this year. If it's still available, would you be interested? I can check with the seller if you are. It might still be around.

Tom as the owner of a 993tt and a resident over in Lee's Summit I can offer some help in alot of different ways. At some time in the past before I bought this car you sent me your # when I was looking at Ferrari's so if I can help please pm me and I will send you over my phone #. I can provide alot more info that way opposed to typing. Your more than welcome to check it out in person. In fact some of us are getting together this Sunday morning for a drive.

I was looking at a 355F1 and when I saw these little beasts, then did some research I was sold. Never bought a car that has been so brutally raw and they appear to be rising in value as long as the mileage is low which never happens.

What is the real market price of some of the Ruf cars?- here, i'm assuming we are talking about full-on modified cars by Ruf, not just the odd upgrade.

To what extent do these cars hold value and have a real resale market in the States?

I guess i'm asking, apart from the exclusivity of owning a Ruf car, at what price is it worth owning, given where the used GT2 market is?

That car was Arena Red over black, and was very nice, but I am fairly certain it is gone. Had lunch w/ Jonathan today, hadn't read this yet though, so didn't ask. It is no longer listed on the website.

As to the other question about the RUF cars, that's hard to answer. Prior to this year, there was no real marketing or support for these cars. Now, with the RUF Auto Centre in the US, that has changed. You do pay a healthy premium for a RUF car. If it is a RUF conversion, meaning bought as a Porsche and converted by RUF, the value is at least that of the base car, plus whatever the buyer sees as added value for the conversion. A true RUF car, with a RUF VIN#, is a rarer bird, and should hold its value well, but keep in mind the initial cost when new.

No car is an investment, though some cars (including the 993TT) seem to be doing much better than others. I personally would not hesitate to purchase a RUF car, especially as Porsche has become much closer to a mass-market product. Given the relative scarcity of used RUF cars, and my preference for the 964 and 993 variants, I would consider a 993TT or 964 C4 and drop it off with RUF to be converted. I would then proceed to drive the you-know-what out of it.

And yes, I will be watching Faszination again and again and again until I can afford my own RUF.

    TomF1,

Forgot these guys, and yeah do give me a call if you need to sample mine with a drive.

    http://www.premiercars.com/
    http://www.rennlist.com/ads/

These guys (Premier) have a pretty good reputation and are known for lower lileage cars as well. The 2nd is the Rennlist where I tend to hang out.

    Good luck

Can I trade you the Boxer, for the 993 TT for just two/three months ? We will just put 3-400 miles on each others cars. This is just when you get bored with the 993. LOL.

Kind of like trading a Matchbox for a Hot Wheel ?

Si. Tengo Box muy bonita ! Remember the C/T is a ***** to drive at low speeds. However it is soooo fun when things become fun. I offered the Box, because it is much easier to drive.
