Hi, I am a college student working on a project for my Entrepreneurship class and wanted to start a Bentley dealership. I've always had a love for the marque and thought that this would be a good learning experience. Are there any dealers out there that could talk me through what it takes to become an authorized dealer, how to find Bentley certified mechanics, and so forth. Any assistance would be much appreciated.
I want to make sure I have this straight. You want to open a Bentley dealership for your entrepreneur class ? I would imagine someone in college would understand that it is going to take $10mm+ to open a Bentley dealership. Or do you mean you want to start a fictional Bentley dealership for your class ?
Jeez, I'd heard before that Hong Kong does have the highest per capita density of Rolls/Bentleys of anywhere in the world, apparently they (Hong-Kongians or whatever) love 'em. But to have a dealership as an experimental pet project? I think you're a little out of your league, friend.
I do know that this is a bit far fetched, I am just trying to understand what goes into launching a Bentley dealership beyond the financial commitment. Ideally, I would love to learn if and why starting a Bentley dealership is so much more involved than any other marque.
Why would it be any different from any other dealership? Aside from securing the franchise from Bentley and marketing to a smaller more focused demographic... I would imagine you can base your model off any dealership, simply adjust accordingly and slap a Bentley sticker on it.
Even with GM the small guy cant get approved for a dealership. If I were to have the 4 mil. to buy it thay would say no because the trend is for mega dealers to get them. I have heard of cases were Dad wants to sell to son and it does not go through.
